I went into the store to pay off my iPad and get financing on a new one like I’ve done before. The guy suggested I just put the money towards my bill. When I told him no, he did it anyway. The new iPad I wanted financed didn’t get financed, and the lady just put the total price of the iPad towards my next bill. They also charged me for the activation fees and taxes on my bill when I already paid for everything on that end. Not very smart people.
I haven't ever felt so mislead by a sales rep at US Cellular as I feel I was at this location. The worst part is I feel he is a manager at this location here on 8th st in Altoona. I am new to Altoona. I went in there told this guy that. Asked about there internet foe my house. He told me he could set me up with great internet coverage thru an Orbi router he sent home with me. He told me if I hooked it up for automatic payment each month that it would be 55.00 each month for unlimited service and that included everything each month. Not one time has the payment been 55.00 and I can't watch a movie without constant buffering. I even went back to store before 30 days were up for having it and questioned him. I told him it is constant buffering. I was given a different SD card for it to put in. Then I had to go back in When I got first bill as it showed past due. What? How can it be past due. You set it up for automatic payment????? We went thru the whole process again of gathering my info. Assured me the next month they would take 55.00. Well it was 68.00 something, and now the bill I got this week is 73.00 plus and I can't even watch a movie on it without constant buffering. An issue discussed 3 times with sales reps. Ugh. I hate to complain or waste my only morning off in there again tomorrow for a resolution. With these same people. Anyone else have US Cellular 55.00 unlimited plan have the same results without any real care from reps to resolve the issues?????? Not only are they in my bank account with drawing whatever, but it doesnt even work properly. Frustrated. Tomorrow I intend to box it back up and take it back. So upset with them. Long long time customer.Long long time.
Jesse was patient and informative while we started new service for 4 phones and 2 internet services. Great guy and so helpful!
This place is horrible, stood around for 15 minutes without being acknowledged and then the snotty assistant manager snapped at us and I didn't get my phone issues resolved. Will never go back to that store and my wife and I are 15 year loyal customers but we're dropping US Cellular and going with a different provider.
The young man that I talked to was very patience and very helpful to both me and my friend. My friend had a lot more issues than I did but he took the time to help her with all of her issues. She had recently switched from a flip phone to a regular phone so he was very helpful to her.
I thought the purchase was great the rep was excellent and got me in and out fairly quickly. However, be sure to review your receipt. I was charged $89 for a life proof case for a phone I didn't even have, I asked the rep if it came in other colors so it could have been added in error. The disappointing part was how they handled the situation after. When I called to report the issue I spoke with Nicole who said it was to busy and she needs to call me back after researching. I had no problem with this and understand it can be busy on the weekends. When Nicole called me back she said "I see your bill here and we returned it the next day." In a very snappy attitude. I explained one was returned, but I was also charged for a extra case. She then told me I was lying and when I asked her to review the cameras she said they won't do that. I asked for a manger and she told me she was the manger, then hung up on me. I spoke to corporate office and they quickly noticed the transaction did not make sense. They did see 2 cases on my bill and quickly corrected the issue. I have to say I am pleased with us cellular as a company and the customer service provided from corporate office, but very disappointed with this store location.
Terrible customer service experience. My entire phone screen had shattered, so I filed an insurance claim, received the new phone, and took it into this US Cellular to activate. They were done activating it when I asked to purchase a screen protector for it makes sense, considering I shattered my last one. They didn't have a screen in inventory for my specific model. Two gentlemen then told me that if I purchased a screen protector, I could bring back in and that someone could put it on for me - as long as I didn't hold them liable if it wasn't put on correctly, etc. I said no worries - completely understand that, I'll be back. I go back 3 days later with a screen protector. First, I walk in and just hear "Yes?" Trying to figure out where it's coming from, I peer around the table, and I see a female employee sitting down. I walk across the store, meet here where she is sitting, and I kindly ask her to put a phone screen on my phone thinking no big deal - others employees told me to do this. She instantly gets an attitude and says "We don't do that." I told her what I had been told a couple of days ago, and she asked what location, and I informed her that exact one. She said "Nope, company policy, sorry. They were wrong." But then, she proceeds to tell me that she doesn't feel comfortable doing it. So I ask if it is a comfort thing, or policy, and she avoided the question. I asked if ANYONE there could assist me and she said "Nope, sorry!". Frustrated, I went back to my car, called the US Cellular that is less than a mile away and the kindest gentleman said "Of course we can help you! Bring it on in." They put the phone screen on within seconds. So my recommendation, if you are in Altoona, and needing to go to US Cellular, go to the one at 301 Center Pl. by Hy Vee and NOT this one.
The salesman was very unprofessional and had very little customer service skills. Ordered the wrong phone without indulging any information on the said phone. Never will go back to that location again. Worth the gas to drive three times the distance than get that kind of service
Shaun was extremely helpful and the service was top notch. We were on the verge of switching providers because of service at another location. We are going to stay US Cellular customers.
I recently visited the Altoona store to discuss options for replacing my phone that was not working. It was a long three-hour visit but I feel that the staff went above and beyond for me. This was the second experience I've had with the staff at this store, when I felt that they went out of their way to help me.
