I never really think of barbecue when I come to New Orleans but I was really surprised by this bar like barbecue place. I will let my pictures do the talking very different, Very good. Loved the burnt ends, biscuits were amazing a meal in itself, the french fries and the coleslaw Working at the convention center this is very easy to get to and convenient, fast service will definitely be back next time I’m in town.
Some of the BEST beans I’ve ever had in this country hands down! Sweet, spicy, oh so much flavor I will definitely come back just for the beans! Service was great and friendly and the gator sausage was new to me and quite flavorful! Great combo, highly recommend! Plus they have a decent selection of alcohol
Came here after a trip to the WW2 museum and it was worth the walk. The drinks and appetizer platter was great . The dish was enough to share amongst the four of us! Was also out in a matter of minutes! I would recommend this place to anyone. Nice chill atmosphere too!
Mediocre BBQ at best. Saloon atmosphere with a nice bar but food leaves much to be desired Ribs, fried and not were tough and dry. Not falling off the bone at all Burnt ends tasted good though cut into such small cubes that it looked like cat food! Fries and Cole slaw were average
If you want a large element of an authentic American bar-farming environment - then you must visit Ugly dog. The number of beers is good, and the dark lager draft is lovely. We tried a baked potato and some kind of hamburger with pulled pork, bacon and cheese and coleslaw - the side-dishes was salad and chilibeans - so to speak, this is not a place you go to eat at least not if you're European.
First time trying fried ribs! They were actually the best things we ordered. I almost wish we would have ordered the 12-piece instead. The fries were nice and crispy. The burnt ends seemed more like beef cubes and for that, they were ok. The server was nice and helpful as well. I really did like the fried ribs and would come back again to order those up.
Whoever is leaving 5 stars must be enjoying those drinks because the food was just meh. The burger was salty and undercooked. The other items were better but still not great. We went because my husband wanted their BBQ. He got the pulled pork mac n cheese, which was definitely not as good as the menu advertised. Ordering was slow, but the food was prepared relatively quickly. Would not return or recommend.
I went during lunch with a business companion so I can’t comment about their drinks or nightlife, but we every much enjoyed the food! Ugly Dog was recommended to us by another work companion who obviously enjoyed their meal also. Great fries!
Prices were good but food was average. The mac and cheese needed more salt, they really abused the BBQ sauce lathering over all the plate even the sides, which made it all overly spicy and hot. They don't serve you in the table, it's more a less formal restaurant and you need to go grab your order and make it at the bar which is ok but important to notice.
Ohhh my gosh! Worst "BBQ" I've ever had! The worst, ever! How do you have burnt ends, that are burnt af, dry, and cold! The Mac n cheese, same thing! Wet and cold sauce with cold noodles. The only thing good was the chili beans! They were hot, spicy, and delicious! So good, I ate my wife's portion! We had heard good things about the BBQ, but really let down. Now, I'm from Kansas city Missouri, and love BBQ!
