The food was good, and served quickly. They have lunch and combo specials. I enjoyed the beef stamina rice bowl! It included miso soup. The service was okay. The atmosphere is quiet and enjoyable. I recommend this place! 15% tip is automatically included in the bill.
Hamburg steak and all type of steaks such as pork steak, sirloin and etc. A bit pricey for the size. All steak come with free refill rice, miso soup and salad. The place always busy usually there is a wait no more than 5 minutes. The pork steak come with sweet and spicy sauce. Hamburg steak you can choose 5 sauces and it's on the side. The food comes around 20 minutes.
Overall: Poor service for the overpriced food, not sure if it would still survive the competition without tourists. We went to this restaurant because the other ones in the Yokocho food court were so good that reminded us the ones in Japan. It was after 1pm peak lunch time. We stood at the entrance where there was an empty table for quite a while after the waiter and waitress both noticed us waiting to be seated. We ordered one Sea Okonomlyaki regular from manual and the Prime Beef Jyu lunch special. Wife likes the fried pineapple as the side. The waitress took the order, but later returned to tell us "it can’t be added. It is only for the rice set". I was a little confused because the Beef Jyu set comes with the rice. Then the waitress pointed to the other ones in the menu. As to now, we realized that they would only add the pineapple for the more expensive dishes as an option. As a result, the waitress was “happy” to change my order to "steak" with rice. Then we waited another forty minutes for the first dish to come. The second one didn’t come for another five to ten minutes. While we were waiting for the second dish, the two customers who arrived after us had finished their lunch and left...I was thinking it must be a very difficult steak to cook or for some other unknown reasons.... The restaurant “automatically” adds 15 percent “service charge” to the bill. So we left a happy new year note to the waitress and wish her to treat each customer fairly in the coming new year...
Great food very tasty. Prepared and served Japanese style, wet towel, miso soup except there is a "service fee 15%" included in the check : Only 2 of us dining. The steak was really soft and well prepared, the Karaage was good but lots of fat. Kama'aina discount is great. Average prices for the area
Ordered the beef sukiyaki lunch and was surprised pleasantly at the portion size and presentation. Excellent flavor and value! Server was friendly and kept our waters topped up. Was a bit surprised they added a 15% gratuity for a party of two but didn't mind.
The food is excellent. Prices are also more than fair, but the service is a hit or miss. Service was on point the first time I was there, but the second time was the total opposite. The server seemed to not want to be there at all. Credit cards accepted.
Very delicious okonomiyaki. The ribeye steak was delicious too. * 15 % service fee tips is automatically added to the receipt.
The restaurant is located in the lower level Waikiki Yokocho of the Waikiki Shopping Plaza. I probably should have known better than to eat here but I wasn't expecting it to be this bad. Seems like only tourists were eating at this place. Service started off good...the waitress took my order and promptly got me my salad, miso soup, and beer. About 5 minutes later, my steak and rice came. I ordered the 8oz prime beef steak for $36.98. The steak was a little tough, not much flavor, and didn't live up to it's "prime beef" label. A steak at any other chain restaurant would have been better than this. I didn't really care for the potato as well. After my steak came, my waitress never came back to check in on me again. They had 3 servers waiting on tables and they could have used a couple more to help out. I was thinking of getting another beer but decided to just drink somewhere else. When paying, I didn't notice they already added 15% tip to my bill so I added additional tip. The waitress should have said something but she probably didn't say anything in hopes that people like me don't pay attention to my bill and add more. So I ended up giving her almost 34% tip for mediocre service. I definitely won't be back.
Unfortunately this place is a trap -- there's a line of people standing outside because the servers are super slow and not attentive. They took orders from tables that were seated later than us, and I have also seen someone who complained that a party that jotted down their names later than she did got seated earlier than her party. Food took a long time to come out, but it was actually pretty good, and the portions were large. Oh, then there was a line to pay the bill at the counter because the server would never come back to the tables.
I was craving Okonomiyaki so I went in here. There were 2 servers helping with my order because one messed up with the machine. After ordering, I waited for my food just right outside of the restaurant and I know both of the servers saw me from time to time when they were helping other customers. I waited about 30mins and went inside to ask for its status. One server did not even remember my order then the other one gave me the already-packed food that I don't know how long it was sitting there. The servers were not courteous and never apologized. Disappointing customer service and the food was below par quality.
