I've had the opportunity to be a small part of and witness the tremendous impact United Way has had on my community. Recently, my local chapter organized a program that provided school children in need with healthy food/snacks for the weekend (along with innumerable other good deeds). This is a terrific organization that knows how to educate and mobilize donors. I'm grateful for those that spend countless hours trying to help people like me (who get caught up in the day-to-day) understand the challenges of our local community and provide solutions to partner in.
