This store isn't familiar at all with what good customer service is! Very disappointing! Definitely won't recommend it to family and friends!

Wide variety of big name brands and the right gear you need for all sorts of athletic activities. The staff is not the greatest when it comes to customer service, they're usually awkward or stand off-ish. When it comes to shoes, they're almost always out of stock of the size needed. Prices are high, just like every other sporting goods store.

I was looking for new workout shoes today which is very hard for me because I have extra wide feet so most shoes squeeze my feet causing my toes to go numb. I called universal asking about their selection of wide shoes they have. They said they don't carry wide but could order wide in various styles and would get a list of the styles that were available in wide. Cool. But then when I came I told the associate that I talked to a lady and she said she would get a list of available wide styles for me to look at. He just stared blankly for a minute and said well she's upstairs. It took two arm twists and a lot of convincing for him to even go get her. Then when I was waiting I was browsing and not one time did he attempt to measure my foot or offer any assistance at all. I finally asked if they had a foot measuring apparatus, he pulled it out and measured. Then a minute later asked what size I was looking for to see what my options were in the catalogue!? Seriously! You just measured my foot didn't you look at what size I needed? I finally came to the conclusion that the staff is completely incompetent in performing their jobs and need more training in customer service, friendly attitude, product knowledge, and any other aspect of salesmanship that you can think of. I absolutely do not recommend them if you want quality customer service. I went to famous footwear and explained my need and Erica the associate immediately led me to get my foot measured both width and length. Suggested I might try a men's style to get the extra width I was looking for, pulled every shoe they had that she thought might work for me, and was attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout the whole process. I highly recommend going to famous instead.
