I would not recommend Universal Design for residential house plans. They may be fine designing commercial projects; however, they charged us over $22,000, which is more than double the average cost of house plans, and the plans were not structurally sound. We had to take our plans to another architecture firm to fix and finish the plans because Universal Design was going to charge us even more to fix their mistakes. After looking in to what went wrong, we found out that the house was mostly designed by their interior designer, which is probably why the plans were unbuildable. She was very nice, but, no one else there seemed to ever have time for us. Very disappointed.
