Person on the phone is very rude and unhelpful. God forbid you ever call ULPD with a emergency. Officers are nice. But, phone assistance is unbelievably unprofessional.

i’m sorry, but every time i need help with something, whether it be an escort or something more serious, whoever answers the phone is extremely rude and unprofessional. I’m so sick of this. Today a fire alarm was set off by accident in my building and it was blaring for HOURS after staff had called for help, before ULPD came to turn it off. Terrible phone manners, and not very reliable. Highly disapointed.

Two weeks ago my husband was in a car accident. He is a Jimmy Johns driver and was leaving work. He was parked in front of the Jimmy Johns, realized he had left something inside, and opened the door to get out when a women (who was speeding) hit his door.
The University police arrived and were incredibly unprofessional and rude. One officer verbally harassed my husband, forcing him to apologize to the woman who hit his PARKED car and claiming that it was his fault for not paying close enough attention and not the fault of the woman who was speeding. The officer also went into the Jimmy Johns and began yelling at the manager (despite the fact that my husband was not on the clock so he should not have been involving her at all) because of JJs drivers parking illegally. My husband was not parked illegally and we have photographic evidence.
Apparently this officer has a history of harassing the JJs drivers and management and lying about them on incident reports.
Of course, the police report came back and they have listed my husband as at fault because someone hit his parked car. This is utter bullshit and we will be fighting it.
The moral of the story is, if you need help and the University cops show up, you'd be better off waiting for real police officers.

They were called because some man came into my daughter's dorm room. The UofL police officers treated my child like a criminal. They didn't believe her, didnt search the building, and actually began to leave until someone else's child called stating a strange man was in their dorm. They then ran back into the building looking for the man. Before the 2nd call the female office was rude to my child, while the male talked about my child like she wasn't standing their.
