I had great experiences with this clinic until I had my son. I do not absorb iron well, as I have received surgeries due to Crohn's disease, and they adjusted my iron regimen without telling me why bringing it back to once per week rather than every 48 hours as needed. I became very anemic and needed a blood transfusion this past week and fought for 4 hours going back and forth, being told I would be called back in 15 minutes and it would take well over an hour. I was extremely adamnet that we change my plan and get iron more often to prevent the problem. When I went back the next day, the same regimen was scheduled and I was told that it was because they're worried my son will get too much iron in breast milk, which I have researched and researched and cannot find any evidence supporting those concerns. What I do know and what makes sense to me is that if I don't get enough iron, my son surely wouldn't in his breast milk if I have an absorption problem. My Crohn's disease has been in remission for 5 years and I have ZERO symptoms of blood loss. My iron saturation is very low and I do not trust a doctor who has "Crhons disseasse" typed in google when I come around the corner prescribing me the same regimen that clearly didn't work for me before and almost sent me to the hospital. I'm a single mom with a beautiful, easy, happy baby boy and I do not have time to keep going to a doctor that does not listen to me, nor can provide any documentation to support his cause in his failing regimen he continues to prescribe. Dr. Raza and his partner have very poor communication skills and clearly zero knowledge when it comes to Crohn's disease, or spelling, so steer clear of the two when you need help for any anemia issues! U of M has phenomenal doctors and these two do not suit the needs of Crohn's patients and mothers!
