My daughter has thrived with U. V.. she is able to move up fast at HER pace rather than holding back. The staff keeps in touch with my wife and her progress . Our family wants to thank ALL the staff and teachers for the personal attention. The field trips give my daughter daughter a chance to meet some of the other students and have fun while learning as well.

My girlfriend tried to attend UVA in her senior year. When she needed help, NONE of her teachers ever answered the phone. She couldn’t get any help at all. Then when she stopped doing her work, her teachers finally decide to call her and ask her why she’s not doing her work. Then they ask her if she needs help and that they will answer and they continued to not answer any phone call or email. I’m extremely frustrated with this school (fire your teachers and get ones that actually care about their students). Do not put your kids in this school. They will struggle and they will not have the proper help that they need. If I could give this school a negative star, I would.

I was a student here and all I have to say is that this school is not flexible at all, they give you work and it includes a lesson and a quiz, and they give you those two things for each subject, they expect you to go over the lesson and do the quiz, they want you to study thoroughly and want you to submit it the same day you did it, in public school they discussed the lesson in class, and gave you the the quiz to study, and they would do the quiz another day. They actually let you think and breath, and take a break if you get overwhelmed with it. Not in this school, either you do the work and get overwhelmed or they call or email your child and threaten to withdraw you. You have Saturday and Sunday off. Me personally that’s not enough time to breath, especially if you have a part time job babysitting. I would not recommend this school for any reason, but if you want your child in a airtight school and schedule then, be my guest, I have a lot of friends in this school and they say the same thing. Don’t judge anything if you haven’t experienced it, I was in this school for almost a year and I didn’t like it my dad didn’t like it, so I transferred to a different school. Oh and fun fact, one of my teachers cusred in front of the whole class, he didn’t answer my calls, texts, or emails, so yeah. And they don’t teach you anything, they recommend Khan Academy and other schools, or videos, they tell you what to do, when to do it, and if you don’t they send a threatening email, voicemail, text, or call. Please save your child take heed when they say that it’s too much, please take notice of their cries. I actually got overwhelmed. They don’t care about your children, they just want “Good” reviews. So I would 100% not recommend this school, it’s like your in a box, with no windows and you can’t breath. And I have never had nerve issues or depression issues, I’m just telling you what I felt.

UVA was a great fit for me as a student! I transferred to UVA because my other school was not concerned at all about their students’ educations. This was my second year with UVA ,and I have had almost all great experiences. The teachers are overall great and caring. However, I can see how a few students may have issues. I would recommend this school for well-organized students who can keep track of due dates, especially if you plan on taking dual enrollment courses. The only issue I have had so far is some courses using ProctorU. Most of the proctors do not seem to know what they are doing and will blame their own tech issues on the student. It is very stressful to use ,and I hope there is a better solution to proctoring tests in the future. Other than that, I do not have any other complaints. Next year will be my senior year, and I feel that my teachers at UVA have fully prepared me for college.
