Lyndsay did my hair for engagement photos and my wedding and was amazing. She was so patient with me and did multiple trials. On wedding day, she was so efficient, friendly, and professional and made everyone’s hair look beautiful. Same goes for Suzette who did makeup for me, the moms, and all my bridesmaids. She was also so efficient while still making everyone look beautiful and taking time to do touch ups throughout the day. Thank you both!
I'm in LOVE with this hair salon!! It's such a warm and wonderful environment. The artist here are all so friendly with customers and with each other. You can tell they have many regulars and they create long friendships with customers. I have found my forever hair person, Lyndsay, who has done my hair for my bridal shoots, my wedding, and now my normal cuts and color!! She's done the most amazing blonde balayage and I'm now obsessed!!! She has also cut my 8 year old daughters hair most perfectly as well as my husband's hair! All for great low and reasonable prices! Aside from my hair stylist, I've seen the work the others have done and I have been impressed by all the styles I've seen, different colors, styles, cuts, young, old, male, and female!! Posting one picture from August and one from February done by Lyndsay.
Edit: I went back and Aimee is amazing! She took my "bride of Frankenstein hair" and made it absolutely beautiful! The girl I saw definitely was not on the same page as me. I wanted just to correct a color and make it less brassy of a blonde while keeping it light. It came out almost black. She tried to correct the color and left me with that tacky skunk hair. Black with tacky blonde streaks on just the ends. Basically haphazardly put bleach in and it just looked bad I just said it was fine and left. I am a teacher and my students called me the bride of Frankenstein all day. The salon overall seemed nice I just wouldn't request the same person again. I attached a picture of my hair before, the hair I showed them as a model, and the hair I got.
Angelique listened to what I wanted and gave me good advice and my hair looked wonderful.
What a darling salon! They offer a little bit of any kind of service here. You can tell that the stylists get along & really enjoy their ‘art’. It’s kid-friendly, with lots of seating for family or friends who come along. I went here for a haircut & was impressed by the professional & timely quality with which it was completed. The stylist began with a brief consultation to make sure she knew what I wanted & regularly asked me throughout if I liked what I saw. The cut also included a wash & style $45 for everything—a reasonable price for New Orleans. I will definitely remember this place for future haircuts! There were also a lot of ladies getting their hair colored here today, so I bet they’re very good at that, too!
The date for my bridal portrait shoot changed last minute, but Suzette & Lyndsay tag teamed my hair and makeup to squeeze me in. I was in and out in under an hour, and their work was flawless! I'm also using them for my bridal party on wedding day. Definitely recommend them!
Great hairdressers are like gold!!! After my hairdresser of 30+ years retired I went to someone else that messed up my hair. My friend who always has great hair referred me to Shannon at Up’Sa Daisy. She fixed my hair and made me feel good again. I can’t say enough about Shannon and her salon! It’s a comfortable, clean and friendly salon that is constantly being updated. Everyone there is like a big welcoming family. I’ve had my hair done for Mardi Gras balls and my daughter has had her hair put up for special occasions as well. We have always been completely happy with the results no matter who is doing the work. Shannon is outgoing and positive and so is her staff. She’s as beautiful inside as she is outside and I feel so lucky to have found her!!! I will stay with her as long as she will have me as a client.
Lauren R. is a fabulous makeup artist. She gave our entire bridal party flawless and long-lasting makeup looks. Lauren was even able to tailor each look to pictures and generic descriptions of what we wanted. So professional and talented—would definitely book her again!
After being in business for 14 years, I would like to take a minute to defend myself and my business as most would do if something false was reported. Through the years, we have never had a problem with any of our work neighbors and we always discuss any issues or problems we may have. The problem arose when our landlord decided to put 5 tenants in an already packed shopping mall. Hummus and More accommodates about 20-30 people every Wednesday morning for a business networking group. I would never interfere with another business making money, but it unfortunately makes for a parking nightmare. It is next to impossible to accommodate cars from their meeting, our clients, and other tenant parking that arrive in a 30 minute window together. After numerous attempts to discuss a plan to “work together” so we can all be happy, it went unheard for an entire year. I then thought it would be best to take it directly to the group in hopes that they would understand my dilemma being they are all business owners. Cars were parked behind other cars in order for our stylists to report to work to tend to their client and would have been moved when the meeting let out. Words were exchanged by both me and the restaurant owners like anyone would do trying to plead their case. To be called a “lunatic” and that I disrupted the peace is absurd and I find it very hurtful. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am willing to help anyone and is it always done with kindness. I hate that people can leave a bad review insulting a person and trying to slander my business name without knowing my character. Up’Sa Daisy will not be taken down by one review after many successful years in business. The people who truly love and care for me and my salon, know the truth. Thank you
As a reply to the review below mine, the situation this morning was not as he claims. I AM a client of the salon and was present this morning, unlike his wife, and the owner of the salon has been trying for over a YEAR to get the parking situation resolved. This weekly meeting prevents any of the other businesses from having parking for their clients. She has attempted to speak with the owner of the restaurant multiple times. She was not screaming or "disrupting the peace." Both owners' voices became raised. She was yelled at this morning, harassed by the "gentleman" below as were her clients, and was told that he would "take us down". Big man harassing women. Hope his mama's proud. Upsa Daisy is a wonderful business. They provide awesome service. I'm sure they won't miss the patronage of a woman who is not actually a regular client.
