Awesome Product & Very Cool People. It can be a challenge to find and Google Maps has not been extremely helpful yet. But if you go and post, Google Maps will improve and you will be rewarded with some of the best local meads in Cbus Small, quaint and a pleasant place to have a few drinks with friends and make some new ones.
Awesome place and awesome mead! Great variety of meads on draft and available for sale in bottle. My favorite at the moment is the Lady Bird Blooms. Highly recommend!
Delicious mead, very flavorful stuff the owners know what they're doing and don't skimp on quality you're missing out if you've nvr tried this place
Could not recommend this place more. I am a HUGE mead fan, and was so excited to have a meadery close to home. The mead was delicious and diverse, from sweet and flavorful to dry and sour, and depth of taste with bourbon barrel aged and earthy flavors. The ambiance was friendly and engaging. My friend and I had an amazing time here.
Such a welcoming location with amazing mead! They have flights or samples of each mead.
Went to Uprising Meadworks’s grand opening and was extremely glad I did. Had a wonderful time! Experienced a flight of their 4 introductory meads! The flight consisted of Omega - the traditional wildflower mead; First Rebellion Apple & Bourbon; Copper Knob Ginger & Limewhich was my ultimate favorite; and the fourth I can’t remember the name of it but, if you like cherries and lemon, you’ll love it! Enjoyed 2 glasses of Copper Knob during the night. Wanted to buy some to take home but, my luck and just like a fine wine and in this case a fine mead the production batch for bottling would not be ready for 7 days. I didn’t care, bought 6 bottles of it and will be picking up my order this coming Friday! Thanks Uprising for a great night and a great new experience! You’re definitely my go-to place for a relaxing time to experience delightful meads!
This afternoon my husband and I splurged on a babysitter and tried Uprising Meadworks. Uprising Meadworks in a locally owned and operated meadery that is in process of moving out of the owner’s basement/garage/house and into its own space. I wasn’t sure what to expect. First off, mead is an alcoholic beverage based on fermented honey. It is neither wine nor beer, but perhaps a bit of each. Uprising Meadworks uses locally sourced ingredients when possible and for their product they have partnered with HoneyRun farms, another locally owned and family operated venture. Nate, the main “Mead Master” gave us a tour and lesson on the process before we got down to our tasting. Turns out the mead takes on hints of the type of honey used. For example, if the bees are feasting on buckwheat, the flavor will be different than if the bees are feasting on apple blossoms. Uprising Meadworks has decided to use honey devised from bees feasting on wildflowers...1800 pounds of wildflower honey to be exact. I have never been to a mead making operation before. I dragged my old college roommate and my husband and we ventured out in the direction of the airport to sample some mead. The location itself is not super easy to find. It is midway down a long warehouse in a group of 4 or 5 industrial type buildings. At the time of this review, Google maps has a bit of trouble pinpointing the location. That being said, it will get you to the area and, if you can read, you can read the addresses on the ends of the buildings to locate the right place. Nate, the main Mead Master? Mead Maker? Mead Man? He has a need, a need for Mead? Anyway, he immediately greeted us and showed us around the space. We were welcomed by cheery orange walls and stainless steel tanks. Our mead flight was a lovely experience. We each got 4 flavors of mead in 2 ounce glasses. The 4 flavors started with their original product The Omega and continued on from there through Copper Knob, Spruce Goose, and Our first Rebellion. I was pleasantly surprised! It was really quite delicious. The Omega tasted like a nice clean sweet wine. I could really taste the honey in it. Our second was Spruce Goose, a lovely rose color, which was also very nice and my college roommate's favorite. Then I was introduced to Our First Rebellion and Copper Knob and my socks were completely knocked off. Copper Knob is not for everyone. It has a strong ginger and lime flavor that was amazing. I, however, LOVE ginger and lime and everything about Copper Knob. I am already contemplating how many bottles to purchase once this becomes available by the howler. Our First Rebellion also required a double take and even though I really did love Copper Knob, Uprising Meadworks really outdid themselves with Our First Rebellion. It was absolutely my favorite. The flavor of the beverage really changed as I sipped it and it was possible to detect each subtle nuance as it flowed over the different parts of the tongue. Mead? Check. Bourbon? Check. Oak? Check. Subtle apple flavor finish? Check! Favorite of the husband that only likes cheap beer? Check Check Check! Amazing! Where do I sign up for a case of this amazing stuff?! I will definitely be back for the grand opening August 3 when we can officially buy our first bottles. I have found a new beverage. Thanks, Nate, for the tour and the mead flight. Can’t wait to try the other new flavors, Ms. Curie and Casimir!
Best Mead in Columbus, hands down. Warm, inviting, cozy environment with A+ staff and a vibrant, out of this world Mead.
Love this place! Not a single complaint to be had. Whenever I come here, I get a flight, and it never disappoints
Very good place love the different taste.
