Living at Uptown Lake Oswego has been a fantastic experience. Management and maintenance is extremely attentive and always go the extra mile. The amenities are great and the property is beautiful. Everything is well maintained and very quiet and peaceful. I love being able to walk everywhere downtown as well. I can not say enough positive things about living here and I would highly recommend Uptown to anyone interested in a wonderful new home in the heart of LO.
I lived at Uptown at Lake Oswego, formerly known as Bay Vista Apartments, for about 17 years. I have seen many ownership changes. The current owner has been managing the property since June 2017. The management and maintenance staff are very passionate and kind to tenants. The rent rates are very reasonable and water / sewer / garage bill back is 33% less than what I used to pay under different management company. In addition they hired quality vendors to install new windows and carpet of my unit. The in house maintenance technicians also updated my living room and bathroom. All the work was done in one week in July 2019 while I was staying with a friend. I like living at Uptown at Lake Oswego. It is a very beautiful, peaceful, quiet, and friendly community.
In the 2 years I have lived here I have found the management staff to be courteous and very quick to help with any issues at the apartment. The Uptown Apartments are conveniently located in the middle of downtown, in the Evergreen District. Walkable to restaurants, library, Safeway, and other stores. I hope to live here for a long time as long as the current management is in place. It's a safe place for everyone especially a senior like me. The grounds are beautiful around all sides of the apartments. It is also very peaceful and quiet. The bonus is the wonderful Farmers' Market right next door.
My boyfriend and I have lived here since September, and we love it here. Pros: Management & maintenance team addresses concerns in a very timely manner especially repair requests! and have been very accommodating to our different work/sleeping schedules. The apartments are just a minute away from a nice walking path next to the lake, and less than 5 minutes walk to dozens of restaurants in downtown LO. The residents here are quiet and respectful. Management does a great job of communicating to the community via email. Cons: If you are a light sleeper, I would advise a unit further away from the railroad which parallels the lake. The trains do come at odd hours of the day/night and are required to sound their horn, due to the pedestrian crossing and it took me a while to learn to sleep through the noise. If you are sensitive to noise, I would also advise one of the newer units, as the vintage houses are cute and charming, but do not isolate sound well. Some units also do not include a washer dryer, but there are two laundry rooms on the premises. Overall, we are very happy with our experience at Uptown at Lake Oswego and would recommend living here.
I Absolutely love living at Uptown at Lake Oswego! I just signed my third year lease and don't ever want to leave. It's quite, clean, and the management is awesome! They answer emails within minutes usually and are always extremely helpful to resolve any issues that may arise in the apartment. The rent has been controlled since I've leased here and they haven't tried to increase it on us, which is the best part! Five stars all the way!
I love living at Uptown Lake Oswego. I have been a tenant for about 3 years. The location is very nice. I'm close to Portland for my commute to work-but also get to be involved in many Lake Oswego events. The farmers market takes place up the street and there is a variety of stores and restraunts near by as well. I also like that Safeway is in walking distance. Additionally the management is very kind. They're very relatable and understanding. They don't just view you as just a tenant but a friend and part of a community. The maintenance crew is very nice as well and they take care of any issues that you have right away! Overall, I would give Uptown at Lake Oswego more then 5 stars if I could.
Since my residency under current management team Uptown at Lake Oswego which took over in November 2017, I’ve found the management ,maintenance staff to professional, accountable, with excellent people skills. Any issues or concerns I’ve experience were addressed in a timely manner with outstanding follow up. In addition the neighborhood is quit, mature, very well maintained / manicured. Durning my daily walk up to Millennium Park the neighbors are courteous, friendly. The park host Saturday Farmer's Market, outdoor concerts, with Weeknight Family movie night in the summer. The restaurants , retail shops , French Bakery in the Circle are all excellent! In addition within comfortable, safe walking distance is Safeway Market,Wholefoods,Post Office, Lake Oswego’s Police and Fire Department, a few blocks away.
I have lived here over a year and love it. The management has been great to me and always quick on fixing laundry room or community cleanliness issues. I absolutely love the neighborhood, right next to downtown where you can get groceries or go out to eat easily. The farmers market is nearby and the lake is such a nice place to watch the evening roll by.
The reviews match up with things getting addressed as far as issues with things getting fixed and the location. Where they do not match, rent will increase when your year mark comes up ranging from $150-$300. Now if you are living in the vintage part of uptown, keep in mind it is literally vintage. Little insulation, you feel and hear everything. You can hear your neighbors conversation, train, bathroom use, coming and going up and down the stairs. If you live on the bottom floor forget about peace and quiet. The running back and forth and loud noises all day and night. The quality of the apartments is not worth the rent increase. 5 star for walk score 0 star for noise and distraction. The vintage apartments at uptown are the ones located away from the pool closer to the train tracks and the bbq grill.
The unit should have been fixed before our move in. However after we signed the lease and moved in the property manager stated that the contractor/ maintainence persons needed to come in and fix an electrical outlet. She did not tell us the issues would not be fixed before move in. We caught maintainence on camera changing the toilet seat going through our stuff , and messing up additional things that would later need more maintainece as a result of their tamperimg with it. Secondly, the property forced an inspection on the properties units in the same month and at near same date of the Public world health emergency declaration . The manger sends emails out complaining of any normal useage of the amenities on the property. She claims that the property is a conservation property however the bills for utilities are extremely high, the heat alone if not used is approx.100-300 per month on a non- severe winter year and that is when it is not used. If used and in extreme winter months could expect the gas bill to be 300-600 per month. We use other inexpensive heating options and still have to pay the 100-300 based on other residents usages. The manager claims the property owner pays the common areas fees however the bills are high for the residents . The heating is a shared community cost, she told us it was not expensive however the units must be supervised to maintain conservation. We do not use it and so far we pay a range of near 100 to 300 per month depending on the other resident useage of the heat. The manager appears to have a dictatatorship culture. After the contractor maintainence person came in to fix the livingroom electric outlet the bathroom one did not work properly. She told.me that i dont need the electric working properly in the bathroom.for my towel dryer because i can just use the wall gas steam heaters instead. We dont live that way and the cost to leave gas on in these apartments would costs 300-600 per month if i used her command. In addition it contradicts her other statements that the property is a conservation property. We think she dictates residents to live wrong so she can maliciously blame them for damages that were done before their residency. The neighbor dowstairs constantly playing extremely loud explosion/ machine gunnfire with children/women/ men screaming past ten at night and day hours. We brought this to the attention of management and she dictated to us and said we should socialize with the man. He is scaring my teenage daughter. we told her "no"!. The property is suppose to be a smoke free property however there is a marajauna smell permeating from the mans apartment down stairs on several occassions.. and the property manager complains about any normal useage the residents have of the common areas laundry room, ect.repeatedly. her complaints appear unfriendly/threatening in nature. Before we moved in the doors on our unit were severly damaged and painted over by Mirandas contractor so they would not show in the tour. In the tour Miranda led the tour distracting me from seeing the severe damage the apartment doors, carpet, floors, Sink pipes, bathtub fixtures, window screens, blinds strings, walls, heaters, under rhe sink gaps and much more problems with the unit however we put these issues on the move in sheet and sent pictures of the units damages that existed before we moved in. The constant threats by Miranda after we moved in just five months ago causes emotional duress . The doors in our unit were damaged before we moved in. they are salavage doors or condemed housing doors. Miranda forces tenants to sign that if any damage to the doors in the unit occur in residency the renter has to pay hundreds of dollars per door. Miranda had her contractor paint over the doors so damages can not be seen in tour. Inspections of units is for rent raising and reporting. Make sure you clean, organize and stock your unit , take pictures and supervise the inspection if they force one on you. Inspections are tied to child support and other county reporting.
