V.I.P Auto Service Center - LV 2

I chose VIP auto because my first time getting a smog check here was a positive experience one year ago. Went back again two weeks ago for another smog check, and was informed of numerous fluids being too low so I opted for the full fluids service since I knew it was overdue anyways. Upon further inspection they informed me that I needed a new power steering pump, and though the cost was a lot for me to handle I agreed to it since it seemed so critical. Two days later I noticed the fluid leaking all over my driveway, and took it back to VIP auto as soon as possible. This time they told me it was faulty washers, that they replaced them free of charge, and topped off my fluids as a courtesy. The car seemed to run fine as I was leaving, but again two days later I noticed more fluids leaking from my car, and additionally making loud grinding noises when I turned. Took it back to VIP auto for the third time hoping they could finally figure out where the leak was, and after a quick inspection they told me the rack and pinion had cracked and was leaking due to the added pressure of the new power steering pump they installed. I was quoted $1,172 to replace the rack and pinion but had to decline due to lack of funds and hoping to get a second opinion. Today I took it to the dealership for a full inspection and discovered the rack and pinion is fine, and the leak was entirely due to the reservoir hose, and faulty washer... Which VIP auto supposedly replaced. Regardless of intention, I was very disappointed in the experience and it cost me over $800 just to be left with a car that is now worse than when I first brought it to their shop. To be clear - I had no issues with the smog check, but I'd be prepared for the extra services they will try to sell you and I can't recommend anyone go here for maintenance.

They diagnosed a bad oil pressure sensor on my 2010 chevy silverado 1500. Same day repair, got it knocked out. Nathan, who I dealt with was very communicative, friendly, and proffesional. The manager Nathan is honest. A humble man that’s true to his word. Yes they do auto repairs and the work is top notch. But the manager sets the character for the business. How it ruins how it operates. Tell you the truth VIP auto service don’t have a great reputation I’ve read a lot of the one star ratings. It’s so hard to find someone who you can trust. That’s Nathan.

I walked in for a smog test and was treated like family they answered all my questions with a smile I will always bring my car for repairs to vip on n decatur it's a place I can trust 9/24/2022 one month after my smog test I had my catalytic converter stolen I purchased one online and brought it in to have it put in the prices here were just fair and they gave me good advice I will always come here for service no matter what my car needs the kindest and best service ever
