Vanguard Dermatology

I have been struggling with a periodic rash for the past two years. After avoiding medical attention for a long time, I finally decided to remedy my condition. Through a referral, I saw a dermatologist, Dr. Ben Reinhardt, at Vanguard Dermatology. My experience there, was gratifying. I received excellent medical attention and felt relieved, after learning the possible diagnoses. As I was previously clueless, as to how my condition happened or what it was. After a couple of visits, it was determined what the cause was and how it came to be, I was finally able to feel relief, both physically and mentally. I am happy to inform, that I am doin well and my condition has since, got much better. Overall, my experience at Vanguard Dermatology, has been pleasant and satisfactory. I am looking forward to continuing my treatment and looking to Dr. Benjamin Reinhardt, if my condition has worsened or for anything else that would require his expertise.

A friend had her appointment cancelled multiple times. Last time she booked 24 hours ahead and they called her few hours before the appointment and said they were closing 5 hours early! Just let that sink in... They booked an appointment the day before for a time AFTER they were closing. This place is extremely disorganized, last time I was there a gentleman was complaining of having to wait 2.5 hours past their appointment time. My friend went here for a 3 minute light therapy session with appointment and always waits over an hour. The doctors here are decent but bring a blanket because you can get a good sleep in the waiting room before you ever see anyone.

Unprofessional service and office has no respect for the time of their patients. I made an appointment for 8am was told first appointment of the day. When I checked in, was told the doctor was running late. At 915am I asked for an update and was told the doctor was expected around 10am and there were a few people ahead of me how could this be, given I booked the first appointment?. I assumed this was an aberration maybe the doctor had a personal emergency? and so I rebooked for 2pm a few weeks later. I arrived at 150pm to a crowded waiting room. At 230pm I asked for an update and was told that 9 patients were ahead of me so at ~15min the wait was > 2 hours. I left for a second time. On top of the wasted time, the staff that I interacted with some, not all were rude and dismissive. Will not be trying to go back for a third appointment.

I didn't even see the doctor until an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment and for the time and attention he took with me I'm not sure why he was running behind schedule. He removed a mole that had been giving me trouble and as he injected the area to numb it without warning I winced and said, "ow" to which he responded, "it doesn't hurt." Really sensitive guy with great bedside manner. After he was done he didn't give any care instructions and I didn't think to ask at that moment because I was nervous about the removal process. Staff is cordial at best but seem bothered to even be there. Definitely not going back and certainly don't recommend.

I go to the Broadway location in Manhattan, although my appointment was a little late in the evening 8pm I arrived at 7:30pm and was seen right away. Dr. Shapiro was quick and very friendly. I would highly recommend this place.

I originally came here for acne concerns around February of this year and was seeing doctor Kaveri Who is no longer with the practice. She was awesome and I'm so sad she's left, I was switch to doctor Shapiro and can relate to all the other reviews on the wait time. I am only giving 5 stars because of Chris, I come once every month or so to get a hydrafacial with her or microneedling and my experience has been life-changing. I originally saw improvements with the products Dr. Kaveri was prescribing but I think Chris's visits made the process go even process. I get lots of compliments on my skin and I feel so much more confident!

I met Shapiro at Advanced Dermatology in Fordham and he knew how to talk to his patients, he was fast and thorough and made me feel extremely comfortable. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my face. Following him to Vanguard to finish my sessions!

Dr. Shapiro is a very thorough, professional and meticulous dermatologist who is excellent at what he does. I've had nothing but great experiences each and every time I've visited dating back to 2012. I highly recommend his practice for annual skin check-ups and more serious skin issues.

I was referred to this place, and although the doctors here are professional, the waiting times are insane. Add up additional 60-90 mins to your original appointment time. The supporting staff just chills around reception area, chatting. Won't be coming back.

Vanguard Dermatology is absolutely great! I suffer from Hailey Hailey and this office was the only one who could actually diagnose me and prescribed me the correct medication. I suffered for over a year until I went to Vanguard Dermatology.
