Vanilla Bean Bakery and Cafe

I recommend never going here. Over priced for mediocre food at best, staff are rude and extremely unprofessional. Went In today for a coffee and some treats. Staff hovered awkwardly, making it uncomfortable to stand and decide... We finally asked for a turnover, a cupcake and a coffee. All the sweets on their menu cost around 4$, so we didn't expect what was coming. We sat down, had our coffee and treats and when we went to pay I asked for a cookie and payed separate from our "meal". Payed for the cookie, waited AWKWARDLY, unsure if I was supposed to grab my own, because both staff members just hovered around the register... While they rang up our "meal" for my friend to pay for, I got fed up and grabbed my own cookie.. Since evidently nobody was getting it for me. Staff member WATCHES me grab the top cookie on the stack, WITH a napkin. Put the lid back on the jar, AND then proceeds to make a snyde comment under her breath "well THAT was unsanitary" WELL that couldve been avoided had someone grabbed me the cookie I PAYED for, 5 minutes ago. After this they tell us our total for our "meal" was 24$ for THREE items. All of which said 4$ and less. We were blown away. Told them it had to be a mistake, because how?! They THEN inform us that the turnover cost 15$... Didn't bother to inform us of that before hand. Because we sure as hell wouldn't of ordered it... Considering it was okay at best, tasted and looked store bought. Really ruined our day. I'm not one to write reviews. EVER. but the service was so horrible and unprofessional people need to know.

Great service, good quality products, great menu for some light eating. I'll be back with mom and dad. Great place to meet friends for a chat!

Tried the cupcakes. Definitely recommend the lemon blueberry flavor. The owners need to get handbags made so it's easier to carry out food, instead of holding onto boxes!

Fantastic little bakery! We stopped in for coffee and left with some amazing cupcakes along with my friends first experience with loose leaf tea! Great tea and coffee selections along with amazing service. A definite bonus for Sarnia residents. Will definitely be back if we ever make it out here again!!!
