My puppy Turbo had a reaction to his vaccines somewhere else, I brought him and they treated him like one of their own. It’s very scary seeing your pup covered in hives as pictured but the staff were so kind and patient. I would recommend VCA to any and everyone. I will most likely bring him here for regular vet visits as well. I wish I knew the name of the tech that worked with us, but Devin at the front desk was amazing!!!
We had a very good experience here. My Pomeranian was having trouble walking on his back legs and was just lethargic and floppy. The neurologist was willing to see him quickly even though they only had ten minutes before having to step into surgery. The two doctors laid him on his back and searched him inch by inch and ended up pulling off a gnarly tick which was causing my baby to have tick paralysis. They went above and beyond for us and we are incredibly grateful. We got Moose our Pom on some flea and tick meds and he is his happy energetic joyful self. I got a sense that everyone here is on top of their game. Not just the doctors. Portia up front was killing it, very busy but friendly and helpful. Hopefully we don’t have anymore emergencies, but if we do I know exactly where we are gonna go. Moose is happy too. Just check out his smile
The staff at Alameda East veterinary hospital is amazing was treated with respect and kindness. I was most happy with Dr. Scott and her Tech Jessica . Doctor Scott from the time we had our consultation to Gracie having her CT scan was very comforting and didn't make me feel like I was taking up too much of her time. She didn't rush through everything. She wanted to make sure I had all my questions answered thoroughly. Jessica was amazing too. Very kind and compassionate to me and my cat Gracie. I couldn't have asked for any better care. Thank you So much for everything.
Fist of all, their Referral Coordinator, Gabby Brown has been absolutely amazing. Quick to respond, even on her days off, incredibly kind, and loves the animals. She is the reason I'm writing this review - she's been wonderful. My dog has a brian disorder and has been in A LOT. The staff has gotten to know her and they are always so sweet to her. I work with the Neurology team, and while I know Alameda East is expensive, in my experience, you get what you pay for. My dog mainly mainly sees Dr. Kelli Koph who is incredibly smart and knowledgeable and we have also seen Dr. Crawford, they both are great. I feel lucky to have such an awesome team helping with my dog's extensive issues who not only care about her quality of life, but also about her and seeing her tail wag and spoiling her when they can.
We noticed this little guy wasn't gaining any weight and he seemed to be more lethargic than usual. We brought him in after our vet suggested them. They took such great care of our baby Seamus. He is recovering well and we are grateful for their skill, caring, and attention to detail. Thank you so much for you loving care of our sweet baby boy. Seamus sends his best!
Dr. Kelli Kopf was amazing! Our dog had an accident on a Sunday and we live in Colorado Springs, so we didn't have many options in COS. We saw our local ER who referred us to VCA Alameda. We feel so fortunate that Dr. Kopf was on call that night. She performed emergency surgery and helped us feel more comfortable about all the events that had taken place that day. She was extremely knowledgable, informative and compassionate. She kept us in the loop during his 4 day hospitalization. He has improved over the last month and we hope he will continue to make progress thanks to Dr. Kopf's surgical expertise and care. We just had our post-op follow up, and I was so impressed with the time she took in the exam room providing education, as well as her thorough exam of our dog. We highly recommend her. Thank you again Dr. Kopf.
We brought our 13 year old pitty, Bella, with a large mass on her shoulder and ambulatory problems here for a second opinion. The vet tech that came in first to gather all her info was so sweet and Bella liked her a lot, she was soft spoken and very loving with her. Dr. Shana O'Donnell examined her very thoroughly, and gave us a clear picture of what we're dealing with and was extremely honest about her prognosis. It is never easy for owners having an end of life discussion, but I know it's just as hard for these Vets that have to deliver the news. She was kind, empathetic, clear, and honest. She didn't recommend a bunch of expensive tests that aren't going to do anything to change the fact or outcome of what we're dealing with. She put us at ease and gave us clarity for this awful decision we have to make. Thank you Dr. O'Donnell for your thoroughness, honesty and most importantly, your kindness and compassion.
We've been a client of Alameda East for over a year, and the specialty department was good, Dr Crawford helped us a lot. However, now that we are trying to see a normal vet, they screwed us and dropped the ball majorly. My dog has a limp but it mostly OK, not an emergency, so we scheduled an appointment 12 days ago, they call us 4 hours before the appointment time says that it was double booked and they can't see him for another two weeks. So if you have something important or time sensitive for your dog, I would probably recommend looking elsewhere than Alameda East right now. They have done great work for us in the past but they seem to be really struggling right now.
I want to make sure to reverse the prior positive review I provided for these folks back in March. They have now shown their true colors. Conveniently, after taking almost $20k and then not knowing why only a few months later. Do not take your pet to this facility. They do not care whatsoever. That was told to me verbatim, yesterday, by the self-procliamed Manager/Lead Veterinarian... Her answer to what was done for $20,000?..."I'm not in billing, how would I know what it was for?" At which point I asked to speak to the owner naively.....she answered, while laughing...'good luck, we are owned by a Corporation' I kid you not. That was it. Her only reply, again, while laughing at myself and my wife....about our dog. Really? I truly hope said 'Corporation' reads these reviews and reports them to the 'Manager' We quickly gathered our dog and left. Not only quite sad, but somewhat scary.
