Veterans Healthcare Administration

Two months to get an appointment. My health problems are directly related to service in Afghanistan. VA is broken system. Time to shut it down. No incentive to work.

This has been by far the worse medical care and assistance I have ever received. The Dr kept a mask on her face every time I visited. She never had any conversation with me. Her male nurse was horrible, He asked if I wanted to quit smoking, I told him yes and he went off on a rant telling me I really didn't want to quit or I would have already. The people working at this VA facility are the absolute worse. I only used the facility for a short time as it saved me many miles of driving. I have opted to add the miles and go back to the VA hospital in Spokane. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

They NEVER have doctors for all the patients. I was initially assigned Dr. Sara Memon and she showed great disdain for having a female as a client. This was my initial visit at this clinic, therefore, I was explaining my extensive history with back issues. I was pregnant and not seeking any medication, but rather informing her of my ailments since this was to be my primary care. She instantly checked and re-checked my cuticles to see if I was a drug abuser whilst treating me like I was a burden for even mentioning it. She PROMPTLY changed my provider... I have yet to have a real doctor since. I have been placed with nurse practitioners repeatedly, one of which has acted like she was god. I wanted to see a spine specialist concerning testing that showed worse results and she was the bouncer at the door turning me away. I had to go over her head to make anything happen. I have to drive an hour away to the VA Hospital to get decent care. The new NP I have requested for labs, but apparently let me fall through the cracks. After waiting for results, I finally called and requested the labs to be sent to me. Only received one of the two series after I called AGAIN months later. Finally got it 4 months later.... It is always fun to get tests with abnormalities without the NPs taking any sort of notice or concern. This is why the veterans HATE the VA. Yes the medical is free, but it is so poor. Consistently slipping through the cracks and getting shady care.

My wife and I are both veterans and all tho my experience at the coeur d Alene CBOC haven't been bad I actually have a good care provider Dr Seely. It's been a different story for my wife. We both felt at the time that it was a good idea to change from the Spokane VA hospital to the coeur d Alene because of it being closer to where we live in post falls. What a mistake for my wife has gotten nothing but the run around each and every time she has gone in there we end up going to Spokane anyway there under staffed and have absolutely no equipment. Stay in Spokane if given the choise.
