I ordered gnocchi . Let me say this: it tasted like raw flour. The server we had, was very rude and gave us poor service. A 500 ml water bottle costs$10.00 I ordered ice tea and got only one glass because they didn’t have more, so no refills on that. Other family members were ok with their dishesI was over charged and asked for the bill to be fixed and they did. Too expensive for the quality of food and service. I will not go back!
Came for lunch, it was quiet. Decent service, decent veal parm for a fair price with fresh mozzarella and a nice sauce, meat was a tad chewy but it hit the spot fine.
Their lamb chops were to die for. DEFINITELY must try these. Plus, I got extra because they were out of spinach. Nice ambiance as well.
Two delicious meals between my wife and I. Pollo alla Voldostana and Flounder alla Frencesa. Absoutly delicious!!!
Great food at reasonable prices. Very authentic Italian. Highly recommended.
Well, we gave it a shot and that was really a not pleasent experience. 1-the hostess was passing every 5 minutes to say our table would be ready in 5 minutes. We waited 45 minutes. Not only us. The food was OK but the check got to the table with 20% service included — is that legal? — and we were not sure we would be happy enough to give a 20% tip. I took my check to the front desk as it was taking too long to the waiter to come by to get it. NYC has beat options for the price I paid $ 90.00!! No wine, two dishes and a dessert we shared.
Would not recommend at all. The service was not good, we were waiting for even an acknowledgement at our table, had to chase up for the wine menu and the bill. The whole service felt rushed and as though we were bothering them. The food wasn’t great. What’s worse is the toilet was the worst toilet I have been to in a restaurant ever - unclean, paper everywhere and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks! Unfortunately I had only noticed this when leaving the restaurant, otherwise we’d have left straight away. In all honesty, it felt like this place was a tourist trap, not relying on repeat business, so delivered a poor experience. Cost of meal 2 glasses of wine, 2 mains: $97.75 Value: AWFUL
I have been going here for the last eight years every xmas season when I'm in NYC. I have read the reviews and was worried about the bad ones because the food was always good. I feared quality control set in and now they were just churning out Chef-Boy-Ardee meals from frozen packets. I was so happy that the reviews are wrong. My wife and I had one of our best meals there on Friday Dec. 9th. My wife's Fettuccine Monte Carlo was best pasta I ever tasted. The noodles were delicious and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. Trust me I go to some nice restaurants that are quite expensive, but this little place is still special to me and the food is great and you can walk out of there having a great meal and service for under $100.00 for two. Updated Review: December 2019 Went there twice because food is always good. The place disappointed me twice this time in town. Service so slow new tables were getting good before us. We found out they lost our order and forgot about us. 1hour later I finally said something and got the evil eye for not saying something sooner. They only offered one free drink, Wow, was really disappointed. Went back two nights later and they forgot my wife’s meal, I had to eat without her and then watch her eat by herself as I was finished with my meal 10 minutes before she got hers. A real disappointment, this WAS my favorite Midtown restaurant. I guess I’ll find something new somewhere in the city that will treat us better.
wow. When I read the trashed reviews I know it's just spammers. This little restaurant isn't trying to compete with the cloying, crowded Italian restaurant market in NYC. It's just committed to a tried & true formula of some 40 years I asked how long: excellent, authentic Italian food at a fair price. More than fair for what you get. The Veal Piccata was perfectly done. The Lasagna had homemade noodles, just the right amount of cheeses and a generous touch of sauce made that morning. Wine selection excellent, most in the $45-60+ range/bottle. The service. I'm not sure what others want but I like attention to details and if the service is going to err at all I'd like it to err on trying to please versus "I don't give a &$#%". This place was spot on with the balance. I also like a little personality in my server - not overbearing, just an acknowledgment that they aren't automatons. Again, just great. All of us will be back again, whether on business or pleasure. This place ticks the boxes.
Based on the reviews I was hesitant to dine here but I will share my experience. The pasta was good, properly cooked with a flavorful sauce. The wait staff were very welcoming and we did not feel rushed. The wine offered was decent but alittle warm. I did not try the dessert
