Village Lamp Shop Inc

Over the last year the Village Lamp Shop has refurbished seven antique/vintage lamps for me, and made three more using antique lamp parts. The owners are true artists, and the created lamps are just beautiful. The workmanship is high quality and well worth the four hour round trip drive I make to have the work done. If you have a lamp that is important to you, or would like a custom one made, this is the place to go.

The repair of my antique lamp was well done. The only suggestion that I have for the owners (I think it is mother and son) would be to send an email notification when the item is ready for pick-up in addition to a phone call. When I called after several weeks, I was told that I received a voice mail. I did not get one and the lady got a bit defensive and suggested that maybe someone picked up the voicemail and didn't tell me. Well, it is a cell phone, not a land line. With opening times from 9 - 5, it is a challenge to get there while working. Other than that it is good to have a store that can repair lamps. They also have unique lamp shades in glass.

I took three lamps there today, one an antique and family heirloom. Bill was knowledgeable, helpful and made the refurbishing process enjoyable. I will return there to update more lamps. I was delighted by the many unusual and one-of-a-kind lamps they offer. I definitely recommend their shop.

Unusual and expensive if you are completely unable to wire a lamp seek a class at lowes or Home Depot....... Very overpriced for services

David Harrison was told repeatedly that the parts sold at the village lamp shop are not returnable. We spend lots of time and are happy to share our expertise with people buying parts from us the parts we carry are the best quality not the cheapest as they are at hardware stores. When a customer takes up an hour of my time discussing his project and getting my advice then takes the parts we sell him to complete the project to a hardware like a shopping list and tries to return what is purchased here we simply say no returns on parts as we told you when you made your purchase and as it is printed on your receipt. We appreciate our customers very much and are kind people, but we will not let ourselves be taken advantage of by People with no scruples. I am writing this response because as the owner of the shop I take the reviews of my business very much personal. Please ask around if you want an honest opinion of the village lamp shop. We have been here for more than 30 years and you probably know someone who has shopped here.
