Villar's Mexican Cafe

This is my go to place for delicious Mexican food. I grew up on Villar’s so I’ve been a fan for decades. I was away for 17 years and when I moved back to town, they met my expectations. I like it all — their burritos, special Monterey, and Tacos are my favorites. They make their chips thin which I like. I bring people here a lot and my friends always enjoy the food and some come back without me. Great place. Nice people. Good food. I highly recommend it.

Thought this place always has an empty parking lot was because their sign is hard to spot. Nope. It's because the food is AWFUL!!! No flavor, the rice was actually quinoa, the queso had no flavor, the tacos had no flavor. Sofa pop was canned and served with a glass of ice. Not worth the reasonable prices. The guacamole was brown in spots when it was delivered to our table. At least the lady serving us was cheerful and bright. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp was MUCH too steep.

My 2 co workers and my self were absolutely blown away by the taste and quality of the food here, we will definitely become regulars. 100% recommend. Our server was outstanding on serving us and meeting our needs beyond expectation.

My uncle suggested the smothered burrito and it was at least two meals in one and very good! Tacos and rice were great as well. Short wait for food. Ordered in restaurant but you can call in.

Nothing special, chicken enchiladas were fair, but a bit salty. Cheese was oddly chewy, rice and beans boring and bland. Service good and waitress friendly. Place fairly clean, newsroom cleaner than a lot of places I have been.

Great food, big portions and friendly servers. Will definitely be back!

My family loves eating here and we love the people that work there. Their food is the best homemade Mexican food in Wichita.

Nothing or no one can take the place of the food, chips & Sauce that Bill Villar Started, The original El Mexico Cafe can be tasted on the South Hillside location Only. WE MISS BILL & MARY. but the tradition lives on with their family. Thank you all.
