Story

Virginia-Highland Church is different, on purpose.

We are a progressive, welcoming, and diverse congregation that emphasizes community and worship. Members and friends come from various religious backgrounds. Some of us have searched a long time for the sense of belonging we find here because Virginia Highland Church is different, on purpose.

In other churches, some Christians have felt that they just did not “fit in.” If you do not like feeling pressured to conform to narrow belief systems and conservative political agendas, Virginia-Highland is the place for you. Every week, when we take Communion, we say, “This is not our table but God’s table, and all of us are welcome at God’s table.”

We would love to have you Worship with us any Sunday at 11 a.m. Children's education and nursery available during Sunday School and Worship.

I have been attending services here for a few years. The Pastor has an Old time flare! He sincerely cares and prays for his parishioners. I attend Small Group and enjoy the weekday fellowship to enrich my Christian walk. It is there, I get to meet the other members.

I didn't go inside, even though my friend keeps trying to get me to go there, I just walk by on my daily walk. They recently restored the main entrance door and it looks great.

Progressive theology, friendly people. This is a church that lives into “no matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.

Raised Catholic and was pretty skeptical from a young age, religiously wayward for a long time, and highly wary of most churches that my wife and I have checked out over the years.  Only here did it ever click for me.  I feel at home here. The pastors and the people are heavily focused on inclusivity and doing genuinely good work in the community.  Never in my life thought I'd be the type of person to say: please come check it out!

Truly inclusive, progressive and diverse modern church. Pastor Michael Piazza provides true spiritual and thought leadership. Come join us on Sundays at 11am! Meet great people and enjoy snacks after.

This is a welcoming, inclusive church that welcomes you as you are. Great sermons grounded on love.

Smart. Liberal. Justice minded Vintage church with progressive values. And the best people you could ever hope to know. Fun and loving and spiritual. Fantastic music too!

Not a "Church" these people disagree with the real Church and all of the Church fathers.

Great people, great pastor, great music.  Welcoming to all with a foundation of treating others with kindness and compassion.
