Von's Violin Shop

To say my violin was a disaster would really be an understatement. It had been neglected for around 15 years. Molded, wood was split, no strings, and no bridge. Not only was everyone at Von’s incredibly kind, but also direct and transparent when it came to the pricing. They also sold me a bow which was exactly in my budget. I just played for the first time in almost 2 decades and I don’t think my violin EVER sounded THIS good. It brought me to tears. I honestly can’t say enough nice things about Von’s Violin Shop, and moving forward will always give them my business.

A few years ago, Von got us an excellent deal on a violin with sound of a violin 4 times what we paid. Her friends like her violin over their more expensive violins. He fine tuned the violin with the best strings and tailpiece for it.

Called Music & Arts Guitar Center about my new, cello, and they told me they'd have to ship it out to another place to get strung and the guy on the phone sounded miserable at my request. Called Von's and they said bring it on in. The guy I dealt with when I dropped it off was very helpful and accommodating. The luthier called me and informed me that more work needed to be done to the cello and worked out several solutions for me at different prices. He did excellent work and my first cello sounds great. The guy I dealt with at checkout made sure I was happy with the work before I left and was great to work with. I would go here again without a doubt in my mind.

Took my violin in to Derek who does repairs at the Von’s location for Sol Vista violins and was completely blown away by the quality of the whole experience. I’m not one to write reviews but for about half the price I’d been quoted at another violin shop, Derek did a masterful job with the repairs getting my fingerboard refinished and the action raised and went above and beyond, polishing the whole violin, refinishing the tuning pegs for easier use, and did it all in just a couple days apparently he was busy with multiple other repairs and took the violin home to be able to finish everything up in the timeframe he had quoted me. I’ll definitely be taking my fiddle here for all future repairs.

The gentleman I spoke with was very enthusiastic talking to me about the history of violin, quality and construction of different violins, and what to look out for as a beginner. It was extremely refreshing and he only helped to further bolster my excitement in learning the instrument. Absolutely one of the best expriences I've had with a business!

I had the nicest experience while trying to figure out sizing and whether or not to change violas. They are super passionate about what they do, and don't pressure you into buying anything. Usually when looking at instruments, I feel pressure to make quick decisions right away, but not here. Denver is lucky to have this!
