Theoretically, a great setup. Perfect area for killing and listening to music while also offering a concert floor. There weren't a lot of tables though so that kind of worked against the whole idea of a lounge and a concert for put together. Basically, they want everyone to get drinks at the bar and then sit down or stand around the table and enjoy the show. I counted 130 people Max there that night, and that was during the tender liner, Ashten Ray's, performance, and way before he got up all the tables were full. Also I heard a guy ask for a tank 7 but they didn't carry any IPAs. I am not an alcohol guy but it seems kind of basic even to me that you should provide an IPA. Music was good, one of the opening bands was way too loud. I was in the very back and they were still hurting my ears and I've been to plenty of concerts. But I don't know how much of that is the lounge's fault. Overall unique place just lacking in some execution. I would give the parking garage five stars if I could. Lol
Get your security in check! I recently attended Voodoo Christmas here, in the last month. The event space is great lighting was excellent, sound was incredible. Event staff was on point. My issue is with security staff and your smoking area. First that area was way too overcrowded and needed to be expanded for the event in question. Now for the real problem, there are absolutely no signs on the door that say no food or drink on that balcony. Second problem you had a security guard working that door with a serious attitude problem. Telling people there is no food or drink allowed on the balcony is one thing and all he should have been saying to anyone but this man was popping off with very rude side remarks to customers stuff like "I shouldn't have to tell you twice." This man doesn't need to be working directly with your customers. I've attended and covered shows at every major concert venue in KC and never seen security act like that. It was disgraceful, disrespectful and disgusting.,
Excellent venue, great views of the stage from all seats, the security staff was present, but very nice and gave us a sense of security. Everything about our evening was great! Glad to see Voodoo Lounge open back up!
This was my first visit inside Voodoo lounge in any circumstance. I hadn't even been able to look in the doors before so I took a chance when buying tickets, to get a reserved spot at one of the tables. It turned out to be a great choice which I would gladly do again.
My first time to the Voodoo Lounge and it was great. It's a great place to see bands play.
Had a fantastic night. Saw the Record Company and they were great. Venue is spacious and well maintained. Plenty of bar space so getting drinks is easy enough. They take cards at the bar, which a lot of venues of this size do not. The restrooms are clean and have plenty of space to accommodate any crowd size. Security was plentiful but unobtrusive. I felt plenty safe without feeling like I was being watched.
Great for live music. I did end up with the flu new years so dum people should have not been out !!!!
Great place to see band. Very intimate.
I loved the energy. I haven't been there for years. I'm not a smoker and was surprised to see they still allow it. It's a plus for those that still smoke. A minus for those of us who don't. I saw a Canadian band I wasn't familiar with but really enjoy it.
This was a fantastic show at The VooDoo Lounge with 106.5 The Wolf hosting Acoustic Christmas 2018. Fantastic show with great artists and one of my old favorites David Lee Murphy! Thank You for a great evening VooDoo Lounge and 106.5 The Wolf!
