Been going here for years since I moved to Bountiful but sadly this was the last, as they could not offer a complimentary refill at Costco for an inhaler due to my asthma. Wade Family is a mix-match of revolving doctors, as I have had four in about as many years--each one brand new to the area and leaves suddenly. The next visit I go in, I have to begin the entire process again, including the paperwork. It is ridiculous as my condition will be with me my entire life. Despite continually having to explain that I've had asthma for several decades, they make me go in for an entire physical each year and every time my prescription expires. My former doctor in Sandy, a specialist may I add, who was ALWAYS my primary care for 15 years knew that my condition would never change, nor the treatments for it. She would write my inhaler 'scripts for x-amounts of refills that would be about two years in duration--plus in a pinch, would happily provide me with a sample inhaler. Not so for Wade Medicine. They need to get their precious billing into their coffers, and it shows since I've never had the same doctor examine me twice in the years I've gone to Wade Medicine. They doctors are always revolving. That's about all the proof I need, or warning you should heed. Why even the receptionist wouldn't even get a doctor on the phone to hear me out. My asthma will not change. It will not get better. It is manageable but that means nothing for the gold coffers of Wade Family Medicine. They are all about the Benjamins and Lord help you if you actually need help because you will not find it here and you will not see the same doc twice. It will be a new one, each and every time... "Do no harm' is the phrase--? Well, I'd avoid Wade Family Medicine like the plague as all they care about is money and their billing. Your health is always secondary. Good luck.
I absolutely love Lindsey Martinez and am so grateful to have her as my primary practitioner. Every time I have a routine appointment with her it always ends up being so lovely! I am also incredibly grateful they begin Telehealth appointments, making some visits even easier when necessary.
I've seen a few different doctors at this clinic but have only really been impressed by Lindsay Martinez. I've been dealing with hip pain recently and went to see another provider about a month ago at this office. She was dismissive and I had to push to get the testing done that I needed. I came in to Lindsay today and told her everyone has been telling me to use Tylenol and Ibuprophen. She was finally the first to say those won't do anything for my pain and was willing to give me painkillers. I really appreciated her listening to everything and then telling me to advocate for myself and do what is best for me no matter my age. She is awesome! I will only be going back to her from now on.
I absolutely love Megan Walters and I am so happy she's my primary care physician! She cares so much about her patients! She's also super knowledgeable and intelligent and basically the best person ever! Highly recommend!!! Wade Family is also very efficient and organized. I have never once had to wait long for an appt, I receive reminders for my appt and all around there is nothing to really complain about. Well run. But I you go..ask to see Megan!
I love Dr. Allan Freestone! He is so kind and really listens to me. He never makes me feel dumb with any question or concern I have! I appreciate him so much! And his MA’s are darling! My husband, daughter and son in law feel the same way about him!
The doctor we met with at wade family medicine had a lovely personality but in asking the questions for the physical she did not give any indication whether my child should do something about what the questions where about. I had to probe. I think the point of the questions is to give a heads up to the doctor to open their mouth and tell a child what they could do differently to be more healthy for example with screen time.
The doctors and nurses are nice but the front desk is lazy and incompetent. I told them my insurance was active but they kept telling me they couldn’t find it. They ended up canceling my appointment because of it. When I called my insurance they verified that it was active and asked me why the front desk staff didn’t look me up by my date of birth and social security number? I told them that they didn’t even try that. They said “well that front desk staff is all idiots” and I completely agree.
By far the worst doctors office I have EVER been to. I’ve had better experiences getting care going into an instacare than the family medicine care they establish at this facility. When I went in, I had been into the instacare almost every other week trying to get whatever was going on with my body, better, but eventually after being consulted so many times, was told I needed to establish a family medicine doctor to help. I went to wade family medicine to do just. After getting consulted for the first time with them, my doctor brushed aside every symptom I had, told me I had “chronically swollen” lymph nodes, mind you, that makes ZERO sense when I’m going in because I am SICK with something, basically had to beg to get blood work done to check for other underlying issues, and get a mammogram referral sent in. My insurance supposedly didn’t cover getting my blood work done at their facility, when my insurance covered the appointment, and in the entire state of Utah where I’ve gotten my blood work done, my insurance always covered my test. So after paying for that out of pocket, I never even heard back from the facility the results for my blood work. The mammogram referral I asked to be sent in, never was, and I was unable to schedule an appointment with the hospital because of it, called several times to have it sent in, to either have someone say that it would or was sent to the front offices voicemail. And the entire point of getting established with a primary provider was to get additional medical help, well a month later, still dealing with the same medical issues, ended up getting married sick out of my mind with the same zero answers as before. Waste of my time, my insurance money, and out of pocket money. Incredibly disappointed in the doctor that wasted 6+ years of schooling to not do their job and waste my time. If there was a way to put in a zero star review, I wish I could. If I could recommend anything to future patients looking to get established with a primary care provider, let this facility be the last place you turn to. You have a better chance being cared for going into your local instacare than getting established here.
I'm writing this review to share my experience with this particular office as a review to help them get better. My appointment was scheduled for their 1st appointment after their office scheduled lunch, so like 1:00pm. In fairness, I arrived 10 mins late to my appointment but so did they. The check in was messy. They didn't have my new Insurance cards entered into the system yet although I had called the information into them before my appointment, the lady checking me in was eating a huge cheeseburger at the desk while trying to check me in. I thought it was both weird and rude, since they just returned from lunch. If she would have cared more about checking me in properly than her cheeseburger, we could've avoided the next issue. She was unwilling to call the insurance number and get the information she needed, rather told me I needed to pay cash or cancel my appointment. Since I already taken the afternoon off and drove across town to get there, I payed cash, even though I'm double covered with HSA FSA and all other coverages needed. It just got worse from here. After the rude and unprofessional check in debacle, I make my way to the back. I'd like to point out this office was dirty and not well maintained. The doctor was new, and you could tell. She literally ordered every test in the book. I told her I had ringing in my ears and she indicated this could be a brain tumor and ordered a MRI. I showed up for the MRI and apparently she ordered the wrong test as they were going to do a EKG on my heart. When we called them to correct the prescription for the right test, she told me we never discussed that ..... um I'm sorry, what ? How would I know how to order a MRI and show up to a building to get this procedure done if I didn't have a prescription for it? I Left feeling frustrated and confused. A week later I received a call from the doctor asking me to come back in to go over my treatment plan. I kindly declined. I said we could finish discussing over the phone, since the insurance issue hasn't been updated and I'm not going to pay another out of pocket dr. visit, to discuss what we have already discussed and you seem to have forgotten? She started to argue with me and out of pure frustration and disbelief, I just hung up on her. A week later I received a letter saying I was being "kicked out of the office", for being "aggressive"? Hanging up on you was the least "aggressive" thing I could've done. We all know I was never coming back.
This place is a joke. I moved here and needed to establish a new primary care doctor. The doctor they put me with was pregnant about to go on maternity leave knowing I would need refills on my meds. I got one refill and was told in order to keep being prescribed I would need to see ANOTHER doctor. Why? I was there 2 months ago and they want me to pay AGAIN when I don’t have insurance. It seems like they want to keep milking their patients for money while I sit at home without my meds being filled waiting on the pregnant doctor at home to refill. FIND ANOTHER DOCTORS OFFICE IF YOU LIKE REFILLS ON YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS!!
