I’ve lived at Walden Park 3 different times over the past decade or so and hands down this is the best value around. I’ve always lived in the studio units and found them to be super spacious and always nice and sunny for my plants! Don’t expect the Taj Mahal as they are slightly older buildings but it is clean, safe and in my experience had great neighbors. It’s surprisingly quiet for a building of its type. Jeremy who runs the leasing office and is really helpful and friendly to deal with. I don’t recall the name of the manager that was prior to Jeremy but she was also great.
I lived there from 2019 to the end of 2020. The apartments are big and full of light, but also unfortunately full of mice. The experience with mouses was horrible, maintenance always came on time and laid traps around the place, but when a building has that many mouses, there is nothing that traps can solve. At one time a trap under my stove captured almost 8 of them. and that was only one of the traps.
Too many delivery thefts makes the stay unpleasant. Multiple complaints to management and requests to take action have been ignored. I can see the communtiy forum full of theft complints and management failing to respond to any of them. It is so sad that people have to pay 3200$ a month on rent and have their package delivered to work address so that it is safe.
I lived at Walden Park for over 2 years. This was the worst renting experience I’ve had, and I regret staying there for so long. First off, the good: 1. The location is great. The location is what kept me at Walden Park I guess. 2. Other tenants are nice. 3. The maintenance staff try their best. The not so good: Since moving in, I reported cockroach sightings over 7 times in the apartment. Each time I reported it, the maintenance folks came and laid traps, but this didn’t resolve the root problem. The problem would die down for a couple months and then come right back. In my opinion, there is a much more serious root cause that they need to investigate. I experienced multiple issues with plumbing, such as pipes bursting. In the worst instance, my closet was flooded from the outside hallway, destroying some of my personal property, and causing fungal growth and mold to grow in which they came and resolved. I was expecting Equity to reach out, and apologize and offer to replace some things, but I guess that was very naive. I have not received my deposit back since moving out. When I moved out, I received a completely all-clear report on the state of the apartment I also happened to pay for professional cleaning. It’s now been about two months, and they have not returned my deposit despite telling me that they would, and they are no longer answering my emails. I’m pursuing legal options. If Equity are reading this, you already have my email and phone number.
We’ve lived in Walden Park apartments for almost a year now. The maintenance and office team are always so nice to us. We love our apartment and the amenities. It’s always organized and clean. Our neighbors are super nice too!!
We've lived in Walden Park for a year now; from the moment we had our 1st meeting, we were treated by knowledgeable and respectful team members. The office and maintenance staff have worked overtime to help us. We love our apartment and the building amenities; the pool speaks for itself, the well maintained gym is a great plus as is the the common room. We love our apartment and the community feel, and consider ourselves very lucky to have nice and polite neighbors around!
I’ve lived at Walden Park for the past 8 months, and truly have had nothing short of a spectacular experience. It is rare to find an apartment in the city where safety & accessibility come first. The staff is always available and welcome to help whether it’s maintenance issues, laundry service, mail room assistance or general inquiries. The team at Walden Park make sure you are always tended too and have a sense of community. The outdoor pool, gym, parking lot and security features make this apartment complex feel a bit more like home. Would highly recommend!
The package thefts at this point don't make the cost of living here worth it. Management ignores the issue and packages continue to go missing. Our packages go "missing" every few months on a regular basis. Think twice about signing the lease.
Walden Park has a great location: close to public transportation, food, movies, and healthcare. I moved here because my previous apartment had roaches, but in my 2 years of time living in Walden Park I have not seen any pests at all. Service requests are resolved very quickly - you just need to ask! This year I transferred from my original 2 bedroom apt to a 1 bedroom apt in the same building, and the leasing consultant Amanda helped us with the transfer process. There had been some issues at the beginning, where other leasing agents reminded us about lease renewal, despite that we already discussed the transfer process with Amanda. Since our lease ends in April, we are also offered to sign a 16-month lease that ends in August next year. However, after exchanging our concerns with Amanda everything eventually hashed out well: we were able to successfully transfer with a new 12-month lease, and now I am sitting in my new cozy apartment writing this review.
Walden park is the best place to call Home. Marguerite/Jeremy and there Team do a OUTSTANDING job at managing the property. My apartment is very nice and comfortable. The walk to public transportation is easy about a 8 minute walk to Concord Ave for the 78 or a 8 minute walk to porter for the Red Line or Bus. One of many best features is that home is close to my church. There is a lot more I could say but I'll end with Fantastic Staff, Great Service and a very lovely atmosphere of Community. THANK YOU!
