Very neat idea adding a museum like aspect to the decor of this tea shop. Didn't quite like my red date drink, should've stuck with the default wang lao ji. Friends enjoyed their sour plum tea and golden milk teas.
If you enjoy real tea drinks, this spot is for you! My hubby and I ordered the monkfruit chrysanthemum and the wang lao ji - both were super refreshing. Would come back to try some other drinks!Food: 5/5
I discovered this tea shop and museum on a herbal food tour my husband I took recently. This shop is packed with so much knowledge and health benefits. We tried different teas and learned so much about the herbs that help your body function better. Our favorite was the monk fruit and the chrysanthemum teas. I want to come back and try more! I can’t believe it’s not busier than it should be. It will really help with any discomfort from the hot weather we’ve been facing recently!
If you have recognized this tea brand in the cans, this shop is the place to try it in person. Menu has options ranged across its tea selections, decided on the original one and it was good. Not watered down tea, better to try in person because it's more of the authentic tea taste than what we recognized from drinking from the can. When you wait for your drink to be prepared, you can read about the Wang Lao Ji Herbal Tea's history. There are a couple of standing tables if you want to hang around too. Parking is busy around this area, either find a parking garage or take public transportation to safe yourself from traffic. All major credit cards or cash is accepted. Staff is friendly.
1. Most boba places taste the same, but for this establishment the herbal tea was a nice and refreshing new taste for boba. 2. The Monkfruit Chrysanthemum tea is very slightly sweet and has a very distinct monkfruit taste. 3. The service was very fast and as you wait you can explore the museum. 4. Everything was clean and not crowded.
The golden milk tea is really good and super unique as a milk tea. It doesn’t come with pearls so that’s extra. They warned that it might be too bland at less than half sugar but we found it to be slightly too sweet at half. I assume it’s because the herbal tea is sweet in itself. Really strong herbal scent when you walk through the door. Has a history of the brand in the store with interesting displays.
Usually I buy the herbal drinks at the Chinese supermarkets but never knew they had variety of other flavors. We stumbled upon this museum on our way to Chinatown and never knew the history behind it. The Empress Drink is easily my favorite drink from the menu!
I mostly want to comment on the service, while the drinks and atmosphere were great, I was most impressed with how friendly, patient, and accommodating they were. I was with 6 14-year-old girls and the staff served them as though they were adults. One girl probably ordered incorrectly, but felt that a mistake had been made, and the staff listened to her and fixed her drink to be the way she wanted it without any problem. They were so gracious and lovely that I would definitely recommend them. This is the finest example of customer service and many other businesses could learn from their example!
Really refreshing and tasty herbal tea drink. I ordered the Monkfruit Chrysanthemum with Aloe Jelly super delicious topping The staff is super nice and helpful with suggestions! Learned about the history of the brand through their little museum. Can’t wait to try other drinks from them.Food: 5/5
