So when people want to see if things work properly, you should probably make sure they actually do before speaking to a grown man like he’s a child.... My husband was looking at an antique typewriter with interest. The typewriter was apparently 400 dollars according to the woman behind the counter who rudely reminded us several times..... anyway, he typed a sentence to make sure the keys did not stick, which they did, and was told to not play with it. My husband replied that he did not mean any harm but wanted to make sure it was working properly. He then stepped away after receiving a look that could kill! She reminds him once more the value and to not play with it even though he has clearly moved on in the store. At this point he yells to me that he is leaving. I asked why and the woman behind the counter answered for him that she told him not to play with it..... no one asked you in the first place. Secondly, speak to my husband like that again and I’ll stick that typewriter up your ass..... try to write me a letter Maria......
This isn’t an antuique store, it’s a store that has disorganized junk from the 90’s, and everyone’s grandmothers china that nobody wanted. There also isn’t a public bathroom. I know this because I used the restroom, side note there was no sign that said “no public restroom”, and when I came out, she had been spying on me with the cameras she had in her shop, and called me out in front of all of her costumers. I was mortified. The only thing that was tolerable about this place was that she had an old and adorable golden retriever. Update: 1 Sure, legally, there doesn’t have to put up a sign that says “do not enter”, but maybe, just maybe, to avoid people going into “private areas”, it should be considered. IT’S IS A PUBLIC STORE. Every other public store that does not have a public bathroom has a sign that says “no public restroom”. I had no idea. I had to pee, I found a bathroom that didn’t tell me I couldn’t use it, and I used it. 2 I have worked retail, service, and hospitality, and never have a I ever spoken to a costumer in the way that I was spoken to, or confronted another person in front of all of the other costumers. It was unprofessional to the absolute max. I would have been fired in a heartbeat... oh wait it was the owner... even more embarrassing. 3 If I had been spied on some more, other than the time I was in the forbidden bathroom, there would be a realization that I spent a good 20 minutes in the store with my cousin looking at records upstairs. I was headed to the front of the store because it was where my cousin said she was going to meet me. 4 There are other reviews that say the owner isn’t a nice person, so clearly there’s a common denominator here, and it’s not me.
First time ever walking into this shop after being a patron of the local shops on The Avenue for years AND never returning. Extremely rude owner. I don’t need to do business with anyone who thinks it’s okay to speak to or act in such a negative way with customers. Definitely not the way to do business - from a business owner to another - Good Riddance.
Multiple fire safety violations immediately obvious upon entry. I wouldn't spend more than a hot second in this store.
Cute antique shop with good prices and very friendly proprietor
This place is packed full of the coolest things! You could spend hours in her shop and still not see everything. I will definitely be coming back.
Super friendly owners, wide selection of antiques, very reasonable prices on a lot of items
Selling Nazi memorabilia is just not acceptable.
