The venue had ambiance and a chill vibe! Service was good and friendly. Food was delicious and hot. Great venue for local performances! Not so good if you paid for VIP tickets, because it's a bar and lots of open space. Weekend parking was easy and available. I would go here again for fun, music, and food!
Awesome place. We had a wonderful lunch. Tuna was very fresh and flavorful. Beers were great and plenty to choose from. Service was super. Great atmosphere!

Im starting to think its just a Portland area trend. But i have never felt more welcome as an outsider anywhere else in this country. I love Portland and i love the amazing people of white eagle saloon!
White Eagle gives McMenamins a bad name. Yes, their food and drinks are great. The atmosphere and vibe are what you expect when you enter a McMenamins. Here is the reality, The White Eagle is a few blocks from the top trauma hospital in Oregon. People walk in there to escape the trauma they are dealing with in their everyday life. The staff at the White Eagle need to be mindful of the stresses that people might be dealing with when they walk in. Did their loved one just pass? Are they here as they struggle with the decisions they face when they walk out the door, seeking a brief moment of normalcy? When a customer walks in, states they are on a tight time limit, just wants a brief escape from the trauma they are dealing with they don’t want to be harassed 6 times in the space of an hour if they are there for the “show” and it’s $10.00 if you are there after the show starts. The White Eagle is one of the VERY FEW places near this hospital! Show some compassion, consider where you are located ! DO BETTER !!!
The historic White Eagle is one of my favorite McMenamins locations. The people, the food, the beer, the staff, and the atmosphere here is amazing. Live music is a regular occurrence. You can book a stay in the hotel that runs above the establishment, yet be prepared to hear music and fun below. The rooms are cozy and provide the basics, but the bathrooms are usually communal and located elsewhere close by. Rooms are all individually named, designed and painted in the true and unique McMenamins style. You can't help but feel the history and imagine the past when visiting the White Eagle.
This is a pretty basic hotel. There is no front desk, you check in at the bar downstairs. Bathrooms are shared and across the hall and there are no TV's in the rooms. None of that is a problem to me, but you should know in advance.
Came to see a concert, and had a nice meal, that was reasonably priced. Nice selection of draft beers, and a very courteous staff.Service: 5/5
We were there to see a band play. Great venue, small intimate place.Service: 4/5
