Was a relief after a disappointing Statue of Liberty experience. That whole area is blocked off to where if you aren’t going to hop on the ferry, you can’t see anything. So a beer and a shot is exactly what I needed. Definitely a relic of a joint with history. Worth a stop.Service: 5/5
We ate here twice in one day. Went for lunch and had the lunch special, pot roast which was good. We met others there that evening for dinner. Shrimp Po'boy and potato salad was so good. Everyone was happy with their food. I especially liked the music playing, was a great time, great place to hang out with friends for dinner. All the staff we interacted with were great!
Loved this place. Wonderful hole in wall bar but very clean. Tom the bartender was on point and entertaining! Drink prices are awesome for NYC and the food looked good and will try the Gumbo next time. Music selection was very good and upbeat. This is great place to relax and take the load off your feetFood: 5/5
Best bar in FiDi! The bartenders are super friendly and pored so much wine for me and the Guinness is on point can’t try Guinness anywhere else but here, no Rudy customers like other bars in FiDi, and just shocked at how reasonable it is! Independent family run. Have to come back for their food!Service: 5/5
Great tavern with decent bar food! Stopped in for a quick dinner and got the 4 of each sampler and pbr with a shot. Was pretty busy during dinner but the waitress was helpful!Food: 3/5
The white horse tavern’s website says, “come have a pint” – and that is exactly what you should do. It’s typically a fun bar with a friendly, local crowd. What you should avoid is any type of food, which is below even the low standards of “old New York pub.” I ordered a cheddar cheeseburger and was punished with a fast-food quality sliver of “meat,” on which was placed a raw slice of sweaty B-grade “cheddar.” My colleagues ordered other items that similarly disappointed. The place was largely empty, making it challenging for our waitress to ignore us. Still, she triumphed and we waited endlessly for service responses. So, go for the brew – but ignore the burger.
This spot is a classic dive. Staff feel like they’ve worked there for a long time and understand the clientele. Drinks are very reasonably priced and the vibe is very fun. Lots of space for big groups. Service was okay, our bartender forgot most of what we ordered each time and didn’t discount our tab even though our fries took an hour on a pretty chill night lol. Forgivable though!
Had an amazing first visit, bartender was extremely friendly who took care of us and food was fast, fresh and affordable! Would absolutely recommend. Great darker tavern vibes too.Food: 5/5
We loved this place, our first night on NYC and just around the corner from then hotel. Please was pumping with clients/regulars. The Bar staff were great and told us to take a table. We ordered drinks and then the bar lady came over and took our order. I had a burger and my partner had a prawn dish. The food was tasty , we ordered another drink and then shared a desert. Overall a good evening and wasn't over the top from a price perspective. Will certainly go back again
The place is extremely laid back. It refreshing in a city that doesn't stop. The owners are extremely friendly. The beer is well priced. One of the few places I could order a Miller lite in a city of craft beers. I didn't eat but the menu looks extremely tasty. Would definitely recommend it if your in the area
