White House Visitor Center

Very nice visitor center! Informative displays and a gift shop with all kinds of cool stuff! You have to go thru a metal detector to enter and the entry doors are very heavy. Overall great experience that I highly recommend!

They have some really interesting pieces from previous presidents and their families there. You can learn some interesting facts that you may not know about different things that happened in the white house. The theater off to the side has a really interesting video playing on loop worth the watch.

Very interesting museum. There is a lot packed into this space. You will have to take your time. It's not something you can rush through. There is security at entrance.

I have lived in DC for several years and for some reason never made it into this museum till last weekend. I was pleasantly surprised how well designed and informative it was. I visited with 3 young children and they really enjoyed the museum as well. There was a movie with lots of people connected with the white house sharing their memories of living/ working there. They did a good job of being apolitical and just talking about the building's history. I am a history nerd but still learned lots of things about the white house I didn't know before. Recommended for anyone visiting DC!

One of the greatest visitor centers I've ever been to! It's elegant, pristine, and most importantly, informative! Only two blocks from the White House, this visitor center is chock-full of artifacts from the White House (see pictures) that are sure to impress everyone. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this center, as it will amaze you!
