I respect the people for not destroying the birds that need help.

Amazing I got to experience the animals up close and help them. Although she is nonprofit I donated to her.

For the persons of the world who love wildlife and wanted an up close and personal experience with animals and a saintly person who serves the greater good on their behalf - by all means do stop in. Leslie Lattimore makes good use of time and saves the animals in her care from certain death by abandonment or injury. Having seen her work, I know that her treasure is in Heaven, and any Karmic escrow account is well funded. A good person doing the hard jobs that otherwise would not get done. Treat yourself to a tour and the animals there will feed your soul with happiness. It's a backstage pass that you could not get at a zoo.

I was able to volunteer my time to help Leslie at Wings of Hope twice. While volunteering, I helped her clean the disgusting living conditions of a few areas, but not all. Maybe Wings of Hope was thriving at one point, but the refuge I saw was dirty, no air circulation, & too much for one woman to keep up with. Both times I volunteered I was never offered a mask or gloves or even a restroom facility to use. Both times I left feeling sick from breathing in fur, feathers, dirt, dust, fecal matter and only the Lord knows what else. On the 2nd day of volunteering I offered to come help the next day also---Leslie needed it and apparently the only thing that gets done there (with just her) is daily feeding of the animals. I showed up promptly at 8am as discussed (driving 30 mins) & waited 30 mins only for Leslie to come outside and let me know she was going to the post office. I waited another 30 mins until I had to leave due to desperately needing a restroom. Since Wings of Hope is in the middle of nowhere...my only choice to was return home. I called Leslie twice that day and left her a message explaining the situation and what would be a good day to come back and help her. Unfortunately i never heard back from Leslie Lattimore again. So for anyone who is interested in volunteering at Wings of Hope---just know it is unpaid and unappreciated. You will need to bring your own gloves mask and a jar to pee in. Get ready for attitude from the owner Leslie because chances are she's having a bad day and talking trash about her own mother and husband. I feel sorry for the animals
