This place is like a hidden gem in Portland. Food was extremely good and I could tell all of them were freshly made. The Korean beef short ribs were really good, the amount of meat that they gave was very generous. The salt and pepper squid was super amazing. The beverage options were very good and having the Mexican Coke available was def a game changer. Everything taste better with Coke
I’ve gave this place 2 chances. Basically they give you huge portions but the flavor either isn’t there or odd/strange. 1. Chicken teriyaki Huge portion, but the chicken and the sauce they use does not have a good flavor. Idk if they are making their own sauce and not trying it, but it has a very strange, odd bad flavor. They give you a lot of rice and veggies which I like. Large amount of chicken too, it just tastes really odd 2. Stir fry fried rice with chicken Again, good portion on rice and chicken. However, it has no flavor. You are eating the food, but it doesn’t taste like anything. The fried rice only has green onion, egg and rice. Nothing else. I got no green onion and the fried rice just egg and rice has no flavor. You can tell you are eating rice, however it is flavorless. Reminds me of when I had Covid 19 and lost my sense of taste. Need to change your recipe asap ! Try adding some peas at least or something, and more flavor. The chicken also has no flavor, it is like they just cooked up some chicken thigh but added nothing to flavor it. I can’t identify any seasoning or flavor, it’s just plain chicken. Just having some garlic in your kitchen would do some wonders for starters ! Like I said, huge portions but flavor is seriously lacking. You can easily split 1 meal between 2 people. Maybe I’m just ordering the wrong menu items ? Edit: check how much oil is at the bottom ! Literally a pool, and you can feel it on your lips ! Free moisturizer !
Amazing experience! Staff was extremely friendly, and we tried the General Tso’s Chicken with Fried rice. The fried rice was flavorful, the chicken was crispy and just a tiny bit spicy - fantastic place.
I had to kill some time on NE 82nd and randomly chanced upon Wok Shop. Honestly it was a bit intimidating from the outside as it’s next to what seems like a seedy 7-11…but step inside and it’s clean, updated and professionally run. The Pad Thai with tofu was delicious and the portions very generous. I might try the Tofu Salad Roll next time. I had my dogs with me and didn’t want to leave them in the car without the AC running, so the server brought the order out to me. Now that’s service.
Every dish we ordered was obviously prepared with a great attention to detail. While the menu is a "greatest hits" of American-style Chinese and Vietnamese dishes, their interpretations of those dishes are thoughtful and filled with nuanced flavors. Really delicious, we couldn't stop eating it. I loved how the food is light and not overly greasy, plus, the servings are huge! I asked for one of the dishes to be made spicy and they accommodated me, I really appreciated that. Don't sleep on Wok Shop Kitchen.
I’ve been getting takeout here for a few years, and it’s consistently delicious. Veggies and meat always taste fresh. The service is fast, staff are friendly, and it’s very clean inside. I’ve never had a bad meal or experience and will continue to come here so long as they keep pumping out amazing food. Get the Kung Pow!
The services amazing, really amazing, and the food is incredible. Whether it's a mainline dish or a simple one, they put all the effort into it and make sure you're happy. First visit here, but definitely not my last.Food: 5/5
