The space is good quality, however, the surrounding building has been under construction for over 2 years, so be prepared for dust, excessive noise, and contractors parking in visitor spots. The marketing pitch promotes a casual, coworking vibe but, in reality, this is nothing more than a high-priced office hotel, with little interaction between 'guests'. In our experience of Workplace One, we have found the management to be incompetent, rude, and constantly nickel-and-diming for additional services, and/or rent increases, despite the already high monthly charges. Questions take days/weeks to be responded to, and then the response is typically 'no' or 'for a fee'. Parking is very poor, with a limited number of spaces and aggressive, borderline illegal enforcement, where multiple tenants have been ticketed despite displaying valid permits. Much of the space remains empty, so draw your own conclusions from that. Rent is high and deals are contingent upon long contracts. Other serviced office locations in Waterloo and Kitchener offer similar pricing but with more competent management and better locations. It's a shame because Waterloo needs more flexible office space, but Workplace One misses the mark. We saw almost 100% tenant churn during our tenure, with one tenant being evicted at short notice for essentially no reason, and others leaving because they couldn't stand the way the place is run. Try it or don't try it. You have been warned.
