So I'm giving 3 stars because the music was great and the service was nice. I really hate giving anything but good reviews to black owned businesses but I truly have no choice this time. So we got there around 8:30 and we ordered our food around 9pm we did not get our food until 10pm. I was so disappointed like I have been here before and the food was really good. This time it was a huge disappointment. So my girls ordered the salmon and all the time we waited for the Salmon to come out it was dryyyyy. I mean so over cooked that you can pick it up with a fork and it didn't crumble. The peas and rice were dry and flavourless. The plantains were burnt. I understand cooking it so that they are not so soggy but they were burnt. Anyway not trying to drag it but I felt they could have at least offered us a drink or to remove the Salmon since they saw one of my daughters did not eat it nor did she ask for it to go. It's the last time Wrays will see my money. I was truly disappointed
The food was mediocre. I ordered curry goat with white rice. I grew up in Brixton, south west London so I know what good Jamaican food tastes like. On top of that, there was a woman and a man yelling in the restaurant all throughout their meal about where they come from as African Americans. I asked the staff to tell them to be quiet but they just kept on going and disturbed my mediocre dinner. Awful scenes.
I’m always stuffed & satisfied when I visit! Our servers are always positive, proactive, pleasant & give amazing recommendations. My seafood is always meaty, has that fantastic seared layer and is topped with veggies that made it mouth watering. My favorite is the seafood boil, omgness... it was finger licking good! The place is small but spacious enough having an indoor and outdoor seating experience. I love that they decorated their walls showcasing art from artists throughout the New York City area, displaying various visual moments of Brooklyn. When Downtown Brooklyn GO HERE!
This review is for our waitress Ken. She is so freaking amazing. She made the experience 10/10. The food is mediocre. The garlic mash potato was the only think I liked. The rice was dry n burnt. I would only return for the rum punch and that’s it. Once again thank you so much Ken for your amazing customer service
Beautiful every thing was amazing!! The food was good!!! The first time I’m having grilled fish and it was delicious. Just a little salty, next time I will asked them to go easy on the salt
Horrible service! Delicious food! I took some family visiting from out of town here. Not knowing that it would take 2 1/2 hours to get out food. The lady bartender, who also sidelines as the hostess and waitress, was so rude from the moment we entered. We thought we could sit anywhere but was rudely advised to wait to be seated. After waiting 10min she yells to us "sit there" and waves her hand at the table with menus on it 6:30pm, it took 30 more minutes for then to take our orders. Noticing 2 other tables get their food before us, I gesture to our male waitress, and he tells us they are short staff and our food would take awhile. We got our food at 8:45pm. Indeed it was delicious hats off to the Chef, but people came and went some which arrived after us and we still had not got our food. No offer to refill our drinks. No check-ins to see if we needed anything else. Then the waiter asked if we are tipping to tell him how much to add it to our bill. Horrible Horrible Service.
I was scared to eat here after reading the reviews. Tanesha our waitress made the experience better. Chicken rasta pasta was good, steak rasta pasta was good. Oxtails not so good the mashed potatoes was plain and the asparagus was great Cod fish cakes good and Mac & cheese balls also . Corn was different. Thanks Tanesha for your service.
Good food and good ambiance. Add good company for a great time. Not a very diverse menu but they are good at what they do. Try the fish. They prepare it to order. Tho the sorrel was lacking there are many other drinks to choose from. The staff seemed real nice. Looking forward to my next visit. There are some things on the menu that looked great
The space is small and barely as clean as I would have hoped. The food was mediocre. The curry shrimp was only made with Tumeric, which I could have easily made at home. The crab Mac n cheese taste as if made with canned crab meat taste more like tuna Mac. The bathroom door does not lock and the service was absolutely terrible. One server the entire night who bartended as well.
This place is a hidden gem. I stopped by here last night and I was truly shocked. The vibe, food and service is immaculate. The owner was so down to earth and went the extra mile. As a Texan, southern hospitality is a big thing and the hospitality was truly here last night. I order the jerk snow crabs and the chicken empanadas; both were amazing! I will be back
