This is a very large old fashioned restaurant. It could use a lot of upgrading. They have nice events and the crowd is good. I've went here several times in the past and really enjoyed myself. My last visit was on super bowl sunday, the meal looked great, the chicken was very good however the mac & cheese was very oily and tasted off.
Amazing food, music, people and service!!!! Food was great!!! Keep up the great work!!! Thanks
I would give this place a 0 if it was an option. The food was probably one of the worst I’ve had in yrs. It was not easy for me to give such a poor review - especially since, I rarely give them, but this place was that bad. My brother and I ordered burgers their “famous” one, truffle mac and cheese, fries, and hood fried wings. The burgers taste like cardboard and what I imagine feet to taste like. The fries were soggy, and tasted like something I’ve never eaten before. The hood fried wings were tasteless and also soggy. They could have easily been taken from the freezer and microwaved, but then - I’ve had previously frozen wings that were amazing in comparison. I will NEVER order from this place again and hope I don’t get sick from the few bites I had. Consumers beware.
Just left about 10 minutes ago and I would NOT go there. The food was horrible. I looked around and saw that celebrities had been there at one point but that’s in 2006. I got the soul platter and the chicken was not chicken. The catfish fingers were not catfish and the Mac and cheese had a funny after taste. I spent $22 bucks on old food and horrible ambience. When I walked past I never saw anyone in there but I wanted to support and it was the wrong decision. I wasted money and to top it off black stuff was floating in my glass of water and I feel nauseous. I am trying to post a photo of the food and chicken.
Would NOT recommend. Ordered Fried chicken with “southern” biscuits and deviled eggs. Food was BLAND. Looked delicious but tasted like air. And my not so southern biscuits tasted like they came out of the freezer and into the microwave. Additionally, waitress over charged me. When brought to her attention she wouldn’t change it. The fried chicken was listed on the menu as $7.95 and I was charged $12.95 because “the menu was not correct”.
Me and my party came upon this restaurant so we decided to try it. It was brunch time and we ordered $9.00 brunch. It took a while to get food but the wait was worth it. The food was just right. It was seasoned right. Sometime soul food tends to be too salty. My one problem was the trickery with the price. The waitress gave us a bill with the regular price of the food instead of the brunch menue price. I didn't understand why she did that. She claimed she made the correction but failed to give us the itemize bill to see what she had done. So all I have to say is watch your bill carefully.
Food was horrible, I came to see my cousin perform with his band, and if not for them I would have left and requested a refund! Greens like dishwater, flavor free fried chicken and macaroni and cheese was tasteless as well. PLUS it was freezing inside. Bar woman also my waitress had on a fur coat while serving to try and stay warm!
It was nice to find a soul food restaurant that sold $10 meals. I had ribs, greens and mac & cheese. The mac & cheese looked good, but was doughy. Everything else was good. It's open late and there is an adjacent club with a bar and live entertainment...I need to check that out too. Overall, a welcomed unexpected spot. I'll visit again!
I came upon this spot while waiting for my order of Chinese food. I saw there was slices of red velvet cake and sweet potato pies. Since I ordered food I thought this would make a good dessert and give me an introduction to the place. I noticed that the red velvet frosting which is normally white, was a yellow color I was thinking they've might have left a different type of frosting or it might have been left out for a long time. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and took the cake home. I tastes they cake and it was the WORSE piece of cake I ever had in my life!! I think that cake must have been left out for weeks and it was a complete waste of my money. I was going to buy food from them the following week, but if this is ow they take care of and sever their cake their food quality will be just as bad. Will NEVER go back to this place I don't even want to ask for my money back they just lost me as a potential customer. STAY AWAY
drinks were good, didn't have food but the people I went there with said the food was ok. The place was to hood and ratched for me, everyone was smoking weed and the ambiance was horrible. The DJ was poppin tho. The crowd was not my cup of tea at all. Me and my husband tried to dance and enjoy ourselves although we'd rather have left but the whole time we tried to enjoy ourselves the clouds of smoke was choking us and the young men were looking like they were plotting....SO WE LEFT WITH OUR PARTY.
