Very busy place at lunch times, food is fab, like the other locations. Love the spicy and spit dumplings and the noodles too, though the noodles were a bit too oily for me. But still great value food
Cheap, authentic, and delicious Xi'an food. All of them are spicy, but you can choose the level or no spicy at all. But i would recommend go with at least the mild level of spiciness. Also self served and quick service.
I was very excited to try these restaurant! My sister who lived in China for years and had tried Xian food recommended the pork hamburger as was something she really enjoyed. Sadly, it was too greasy the meat is very finely chopped so it’s mixed with a lot of fat and it upset my stomach :. I was with gastritis for 3 weeks prior going to China go figure so it wasn’t a pleasant experience. The chrysanthemum tea was good at least. And the prices as really cheap. Maybe if you try something else...
Delicious and authentic Chinese food. Generous portions at a reasonable price. Totally lives up to the hype. Their "normal" spicy is a delightful ma-la flavor. The seitan noodles is absolutely delicious. The cucumber salad is pretty refreshing but don't expect it to be super flavorful-- they actually taste better the day after marinating in the delightful sauce overnight. I would say I have an above average tolerance for spice and found the "normal" spice level to be pretty mild. Definitely worth the visit.
Excellent, affordable pulled noodles. We had the chicken and the spicy and tingly beef which isn’t overly spicy. A little bit challenging to eat with chop sticks at times because of the sheer length and weight of the noodles! You need to have your food before you can get a seat - and seating is relatively limited. A great place for a quick bite before heading to MoMA
Quick, efficient service got me in and out in 20 mins! Cucumber salad was refreshing and super flavorful. The beef noodle soup was solid as well. Noodle texture was great and soup flavor was on point. Would come here often if I lived around one...
Delicious, fast, and spicy Asian noodles! Service is fast and efficient! The heat of the noodles was great for a rainy NYC day. We got the Spicy Beef Noodles and the Spicy Lamb Soup Noodles. The spicy beef was more flavorful and stronger sour taste. Also the marinated and braised beef was perfect texture. The lamb noodle soup was warming but a bit watered down. Would do without the soup next time.
If you're looking for any generic Chinese food this is not the place for that. The food here was awesome. The noodles were chewy with a really great texture and the sauce was well seasoned and spicy without it being the only thing you taste. The spicy and sour lamb dumplings are also well worth a share with someone as well or just hoard it for yourself. Overall, it's very regional and that alone should get an extra star for showcasing dishes beyond what is the general misconception of food from such a geographically and culturally diverse country.
I am a huge fan of hand pulled noodles and lamb, and this place does them both well! With delicious blends of spices and flavors, each dish we tried was excellent, from the massive and juicy lamb dumplings, the comforting pita bread soup, to the cumin lamb noodles, my favorite dish. This is solid spicy Chinese fast food indeed, there is no table service, just like McDonald's--perfect for a hot, tasty bite on a cold day.
Amazing flavors and very filling as the noodles are very thick. I recommend you go very hungry. Also a nice touch is that they serve tsingtao beer and hitachino for those who want a beer to chase down those spicy Chinese flavors.
