Dr. Zuo is very knowledgeable and compassionate. His understanding of the human body is extremely impressive and helpful. I have been going to him for various injuries over the years. He has helped me when it seemed no one else could. A few years ago I was having a lot of issues with my foot and no one I went to knew what was going on or how to treat it. I was insanely frustrated! Dr. Z was able to help and allowed me to get my active lifestyle back. Whenever I feel my body starting to rebel I know I can count on Dr. Z to help me stay healthy and active. I recommend him to everyone all the time! If you're looking for a great acupuncturist, he is your guy!
This was my last resort. I remember just over 2 yrs ago at Costco and the shooting pain down my leg I had never felt before. I have always had back problems, but this was the first sciatica I had ever felt. I went through many tests. They thought I had lupus, arthritis, whatever. All the tests were very expensive even with my insurance. All came back normal. In the meantime, I love to hike, I love to bike, I love to go on walks. Can't do it with the pain. I go back to Costco with a cane. So worried I will fall with the pain and cause a bigger problem. This is where I start talking about hope. I am beside myself and the relief I am feeling since my treatment with Dr. Zuo. I get so emotional when I am able to bend down or just do something I haven't been able to do in over 2 yrs. I am 2 weeks in my treatment and will follow up when I am done. He is a very kind doctor and very gentle, and he has a good sense of humor! It feels like a miracle.
Dr. Zuo certainly knows his trade. I have heard many success stories from some of his patients and experienced great success myself. It was not something that was easy to fix and I left overall greatly strengthened and well balanced feeling, exactly what I had asked for given my chronic illness. I recommend looking at his long lists of areas he covers in treatment and giving it a try if your ailment falls in one of the categories.
I had a right side frozen shoulder 2 of 4 rotator cuff muscles inflamed that was giving me sharp, shooting pain that was inhibiting my daily activities. My primary doctor recommended cortisone shots and physical therapy. I wanted to try acupuncture and consulted Dr Yancheng. He immediately pointed put the affected area and quoted $550 for 10 sessions. My insurance doesn’t cover acupuncture yet, but I proceeded with the treatments. I learned that the fine needle creates a trauma to the body, body responds to it by increasing the blood flow to the trauma, promoting natural self-healing. I was skeptical, but when I went back the second time, my pain was reduced, after the third session, I was able to lift my arm. My pain was completely gone after the entire session was complete. The whole muscle recovery took me a year and half but initial pain was definitely removed by the acupuncture.
This is my first experience with acupuncture. At my first visit, Dr. Zuo observed a problem and recommended I have labs done with my regular M.D. The results were critically important and indicated stage 3 kidney failure. My regular doctor was impressed with how "on top of things" Dr. Zuo was. My physician monitored labs and after a few treatments I was excited to learn that results indicated significant improvement. I am so lucky to have selected Dr. Zuo for acupuncture. His treatments are highly effective and have led to outstanding results in improved health.
I'll start by saying I'm sure this doctor is extremely knowledgable and experienced in his field of medicine. I have no doubts of that. What was lacking was the empathy and human connection in my visit. I went in for my first visit wanting to have cupping done, I have had it done in the past and its given me a lot of pain relief I've had RA and Lupus since I was 14 and am seeing a wide range of specialty doctors for my health, I am 26 and consider myself very responsible at taking care of my body. What I didn't count on was being immediately lectured about my health, how he did not want to cup me and instead wanted to find a cure not a temporary solution to my pain. I appreciate him wanting to find a way to fix my health, but a first time appointment with a doctor who I don't know or have not built trust with, who does not know my history or the work I am currently doing is not the time where I want to immediately dive into some intense treatments. He basically sat there lecturing me about my health without asking questions, I felt like he wasn't hearing what I PERSONALLY wanted for myself, since it is MY BODY and my choice what I have done to it. And finally frustrated enough I started crying telling him that it was my body and my choice, and that I was seeing other doctors and working on my health, since he was treating me like I wasn't doing anything outside of getting some cupping done. Finally he said he will do a cupping treatment but continued to lecture me during and after the session about my own health and how I wasn't doing what was best for me. The cupping itself was good, again I'm sure he is very good at what he does and his treatment. But because of the emotionally damaging interaction I had in his office and his lack of empathy and listening to my needs, I will not be returning.
I have been treated by Dr. Zuo since 2008. His treatments have been literally a life saver. My job is so high stress that I would not have been able to continue work without his acupuncture treatments. Modern medicine was ineffective for my problems. Western versions of acupuncture were no where near as effective as the more traditional methods used by authentic Chinese physicians such as Dr. Zuo. These methods have been proven over thousands of years. They do occasionally cause discomfort. Extremely sensitive individuals may want to research the history of Chinese medicine to build up confidence and find a support group to get encouragement through some of the discomfort.
Dr. Yangcheng Zuo: OMD Acupuncturist Western MD / Orthopedic Surgeon Zero-Gravity Solutions Personal Patient Reference Masters Referral Service 7 years ago, I was the bike in a “bicycle vs. motor vehicle” head on accident. Even though it wasn’t my fault, which makes zero actual lifesaving difference, I survived but not without apparent lifelong impact! Not only was I severely injured but also severely miss and un-diagnosed! Through the next 6 years followed the all too usual nightmare of searching for a way to help my body heal. The previously 3 dozen plus undiagnosed spinal fractures, significant neuro-spinal damage, the resulting internal organ dysfunction and the extensive connective damage, also all up and down my spine. In the final tally I had quite the complex of injuries of: over 50 bone and disk fractures, every kind of soft and connective tissue damage and neurological damage from my head to my leg focused through my head, neck, scapular, spine pelvis, arms and legs or in other words my whole body was somehow damaged: too complex in fact, for allopathic western, medicine to make any real difference. Does this sound familiar to anyone else?? I now also have 25 extra “stainless steel bones” to hold my upper back and shoulder together. As a former professional athlete I had a very high standard of physical capability and tolerance for pain that I used as a functional baseline I had used and counted on to live my life with. I lost it all. At the time, I first saw Dr. Zuo I was in such bad shape. I was on a slippery slope of systematic failures. I gave myself one last chance; I asked my partner to find the right person to help me without prejudice of practice type. Dr. Zuo was it!! I hadn’t eaten a full meal in over two weeks and nothing for days, and nothing else was helping. Medication had long since become ineffective as I couldn’t keep it down. I felt I would be dead inside a week to 10 days and I didn’t have the energy to fight anymore anyway. So, we found Dr. Zuo first thing on a Monday morning. He saw me that day, and after he had examined me I asked him if he could treat me at all or how far he could go. He told me with a laugh and a big smile, quote “no problem, I can fix all your problem!!!” He was the first doctor that could see the complex of ALL of my interrelated issues, let alone have no doubt he could fix them. Obvious by the look on his face, I believed him right there, the benefit of working with 3000+ years of study and practice. In one session of acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, and Oriental massage, physical therapy he had made more difference than all the MD’s combined in the 6 previous years. I was able to eat 3 meals in one afternoon. The first time I’d eaten 3 meals in a day in 6 years. My body rejected almost all food, the result of neurological damage I could throw up at any moment, and did, and had the feeling of extreme nausea for those 6 years. By the 3rd session with Dr. Zuo, I began to feel almost normal with a huge reduction in direct pain and overall discomfort pain. For the first time I started to believe, I had some hope that I would one day be able to engage life again. Within a few weeks’ under Dr. Zuo’s care, people that had only known me since the accident said I looked like a difference person, like I wasn’t on the brink of death any more. More importantly that is also how I felt. I had hope in having a functional life again. Hope, so trite and so absolutely vital to wellbeing for everyone. Because of the extensive undiagnosed damage done to my spine and core organs at the time of the accident as well as the obvious damage, it has been a much more arduous path to regain functional health at times thinking I wouldn’t make it but since working with Dr. Zuo I don’t have that feeling any more. Before Dr. Zuo this would not have been possible. Whether you are “fine” or you have health issues, let this story be the impetus to take action to give your optimum health its best shot.
I am so happy that I found Dr. Zuo! He saved my partner’s life, but I will let him tell you. For myself, going through perimenopause, I was experiencing erratic hormonal fluctuations including hot flashes, night sweats and inability to deal well with stress aka mood swings!. I could never feel rested either because of hot flashes interrupting my sleep and general lethargy. Hormone therapy was not a path I was interested in. Within just a few sessions with Dr Zuo, I began to feel more grounded than I had for some time. I work from home so he reminded me how important it is that I rest, “Don’t work so hard!” –take a break, stop working, go for walk – do something! When I heard my mom was set on having knee surgery – a risky proposition as she has diabetes, I suggested she fly out here to see if Dr Zuo could help her. After seeing Dr. Zuo every day while she was here, she’s not even thinking about surgery, her knee is that much better! Recently, I had what I thought was plantar fasciitis that wouldn’t go away and was getting worse – travelling up my leg. Immediately upon hearing what I was experiencing, he told me it was sciatic nerve pain, possibly from a disc in my lower back. He treated both the sciatic nerve and the disc. Within a few sessions, the pain was gone. Thank you Dr.Zuo for all you have done for me, my family and friends.
Dr. Zuo's prices for acupuncture are very expensive. He charged me over $100. I went to a different acupuncturist in Salt Lake City that only charged $50-$65 dollars for the exact same treatment that Dr. Zuo gave me. I am very displeased with the results and the prices. I think that there are better acupuncturists that would do a better job for a better price.
