Story

Yoga Tribe Brooklyn offers many forms of hot yoga and pilates. We began with a foundation of Bikram Yoga, which is a powerful series of 26 Hatha Yoga postures practiced in a room heated to 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Each posture builds upon the previous posture and prepares you for the next. In this way, the series systematically stimulates and restores health to every muscle, joint, and organ of the body. This practice boasts many physical, mental, and emotional benefits.

"We strive to create a welcoming space for health and healing where EVERY.BODY.BELONGS. As a black and woman-owned studio, we value diversity and are proud to offer a variety of yoga practices to the community since 2003. Our classes are taught by certified, experienced instructors. We hope to encourage you to maintain a regular practice to promote and support your overall well-being."

We went to this studio regularly before we left Brooklyn in 2021. I think a lot about how I miss this place, so thought I should leave a review. It is the classic hot yoga style, it’s actually hot, and all of the instructors are amazing. It’s a nice community, too. Highly recommend!
YTB has transformed my mind and body in the 9-ish months that I've been going. I feel the strongest, most flexible and calmest I've ever felt in no small part due to consistent attendance at YTB for 2-3 classes per week. I am partial to the 26+2 class. As a relative beginner, I've enjoyed the consistency of the sequence while interpreting each teacher's unique style and personality. It feels like I learn a new aspect of the same practice every time I'm at the mat. Clean facility and aesthetically pleasing, everything you need for class, and most importantly, wonderful teachers and staff. I always feel comfortable and welcome, and I'm always excited to return.
When I first entered 1120 Washington Avenue, I had some reservations. The hallways were a little dark and dingy. But once I entered studio, I felt at ease. It was very clean and people were friendly. Prices are reasonable. They have a generous intro special and a single class is $22. If you buy multiple classes, the price can go down low as $16. Not that many places in Brooklyn where you can get a yoga class at that price. They offer all types of yoga, not just Bikram, but also Vinyasa and rocket which I’ve never heard of until I took it there.
My yoga practice at Yoga Tribe Brooklyn has become an anchor point for my life and well being. All of the teachers are highly qualified and have their own styles of presenting the core material. There are a variety of classes, styles, and workshops to experience. Welcoming, inclusive, and restorative. It's great!
The slogan at YogaTribe Brooklyn is “Every Body Belongs,” and this is truly the case. I don’t know of anywhere that is so welcoming to everyone, beginners and experienced practitioners alike. The teachers are an excellent extremely diverse lot, all highly trained and excellent at what they do. The vibe is relaxed and friendly; this place is an oasis of warmth.
I love this studio so much! The teachers are very knowledgeable and they guide the beginner students throughout the classes. The variety of other classes compliment the classic Bikram sequence. I highly recommend trying the intro weeks!
I’ve been coming to the studio since 2014, at first in the Park Slope location, and now in Lefferts Gardens. I love the people and the vibe. I’ve had amazing teachers, some of whom have left, but some are still there and cool new ones too. Clean, friendly, lovely altogether.
Inviting studio with great instructors. Best for hot/Bikram. My one complaint is that I do wish they would offer free water from the tap.
Was able to have one class here after buying an unlimited week. multiple attempts to call and email to schedule a class went unanswered after IT issues. They actually charge for tap water, which feels unethical.
