I went with a very well known college instructor (that I sometimes substitute for) on a field trip to show some young industrial designers the Zodiac facility and get a tour of the Zodiac process and staff.
The background checks needed we're submitted ahead of time. 13 of us drove down to Zodiac (about 50-miles from our college) and found out the morning of our trip that only 4 of the 13 people who submitted to the required background checks were approved for the tour.
REALLY? And nobody from Zodiac could have bothered to call the instructor to explain the afternoon prior? That was a horrible experience that could have been avoided if only someone would have taken the time to call ahead and warn this crew. Thoughtless treatment like this makes me wonder what it would even be like to work for a thoughtless company as this.
