A.W. Spalding is a Christian community of learners dedicated to extraordinary accomplishments. The school seeks to inspire its learners to think deeply, live fully, serve unselfishly, and love God completely.
AWS has an excellent academic program as evidenced with our school percentile ranking at the 89%ile on the 2009 Fall Writing of the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills. AWS 8th graders also perform better then the state and county in the TCAP Authentic Writing Assessment. 3rd, 5th, and 7th graders have outperformed comparative suburban and independent schools on the ERB Authentic Writing Assessments.
