TKDo Martial Arts

About

TKDo is a martial arts organization and community founded by Trey Kilgore and Keldren Icet. We built our first martial arts studio in Collegedale, TN

"Our tradition is formative and life-changing to young people. We can set them free from the bonds of fear to stand up and be counted in confidence. If they learn to excel here, they can excel anywhere. The mindset we developed is transferable to any path. For adults, it's an engaging workout with a pragmatic goal of self-defense, and trust me, you won't realize how hard we push you until the class is long over. What we can teach you and how far you can grow here is second to none, anywhere. We invite you to become part of our TKDo family or drop in and say hi."

Our two sons started a few months ago and it has been a positive experience for all of us. I like that they’re getting physical activity while learning life skills with other kids. They like learning stances and forms. TKDo instructors work with them on practicing attention skills like listening well and making eye contact, showing respect, and developing leadership skills. My husband and I can already see a difference in their character development from having TKDo consistently reinforcing what we are trying to teach at home. Thanks, TKDo!
We love TKDo and all that it offers! I love the character building as much as we love the physical aspect it teaches our children. The instructors are great at what they do, passionate, and genuine about what they teach. Highly recommend if you are looking for martial art skills and so much more!
It is indescriptible how good for the kids this discipline is. Mr Icet is a professional teacher, then a Tae Kwon Do instructor, I don't know who enjoy more the trainning sessions, the kids or us as parents. Super recomendable.
So far so good! My two boys have just started and very much enjoy the structured and disciplined, but fun environment. Impressed with the focus on the "Tenets" of TKDo.
Very disappointed in what it offered for younger students. I paid $200 for my daughter to take 5 classes that were 30 minutes long and consisted of 10 minutes warm up, 10 minutes of martial arts instruction, and 10 minutes of playing a game. With 10 students and 1 instructor, they were typically only practicing a move 1 or 2 times as they would line them up individually and only had the 10 minutes. Although I paid for 12 weeks it was a summer special as $200 normally gets you only 6 weeks!!, my daughter was so bored after the first 3 sessions that she cried and I had to make her go to 2 more. When I contacted them about getting a partial refund and possibly trying again when she was older as they would not let her try any class other than the 30 minute one, I was refused and told it was my choice to only bring her to 5 classes. They were "kind" enough not to charge me $70 for cancelling If she ever is interested in martial arts in the future, we will be attending elsewhere.
They not only teach martial arts, but they also teach values that are not taught many places anymore. My kids have been in class for 8 months and it has been one of the best things I could have done for them.
Finally! After all these years the dream is real. I have been able to take the last 28 years of Martial Arts education, and create a program that teaches self defense that is practical and effective. We also have a journey for every child and adult that never ends. There is always room to improve and learn more. TKDo Martial Arts is everything I have ever wanted and more. My 6 year has learned so much from this class and is always looking forward to attend. Mr. Isaac and Mr.You are amazing and so patient with the kids!
We had been there over 2 months and never received the correct size shirt and never received the white tops we paid for we only had pants and a belt. Plus it was so crowded with people in a such a small space. Waist of money.
Great instructor for the little kids and guided self accountability and goal setting. Backs up perfectly what I am trying to instill from home!!
