It was fantastic. I have to say that the variety in there was enormous! I haven’t seen the bees hall before and it was really interesting to observe and see the story behind. and I also enjoy the flowers and blossoms all the time. usually I’ll take a walk and I heard from one of my American anti-: she told me that every July 4, it was a good place to cherish and appreciate the fireworks as well!
This is one of my favorite spots to visit when I'm in State College. It's an amazing place to explore and see the beauty in our botanical world. It's a wonderful place for all ages. My family and I are always discovering something new. Thank you to all of the staff, designers, and volunteers who make this place possible. We appreciate your hard work.
Absolutely beautiful arboretum/botanical garden. The signage was excellent, the plants were well taken care of, and the facilities were in great shape. So many beautiful flowers and birds! I would recommend this to anyone. Even on a rainy day it was perfect.
A beautiful little Oasis in the middle of Penn State. The nicely paved pathways made it easy for my father to get around in his scooter. The fountain is a true joy that everybody should check out. I could spend hours just walking around admiring the foliage and flowers and taking in the fresh air.
Very nice and relaxing place - not too big - and many flowers you will recognize from your own garden, also vegetables. Great place to give ideas for your own garden. Very peaceful. I really recommend it. Easy parking. And it’s free!!
Great open area for a nice walk on the Penn State campus. Even in winter, they had festive decorations up and educational stations about bees, natural caves, and music! It was pretty empty when we went and can be a good place to get away from the hubub and collect your thoughts. Whether you're a student or a visitor, I wouldn't forget to stop at the Arboretum!
A little gem near campus. They go hard with the flowers during spring. GO! There's also a cool little area for kids and I believe they have a butterfly house. They have benches along the paths and seating areas to relax with your family or friends. Sometimes they have fruit trees as well. It's definitely a place I recommend visiting at least once... And maybe you'll see the random cat too!
Great spot free-of-charge to wander around, especially in warmer months when the plants are at their full glory. There are nice sections like the children’s, mountain, meadow, and the new pollinator. Nice view from the pavilion on the north side. One thing that makes no sense until one realises it’s PSU you’re dealing with, is why they would build an entirely new art museum on the grounds here. The construction is bad, though I fear the building will be worse. Why are they using open land to build a new museum when we already have one? I can’t imagine the animals and birds will like it much. Anyway, there’s a current exhibit and sculpture on the Carolina parakeet, the extinct North American parakeet. It also has an interpretive sign which is slightly wrong- most ornithologists disagree, but it is most likely the birds died mostly to disease, not habitat loss, because the forests were not gone in large part until after their extinction, and their range was so wide, it’s unlikely human-caused habitat loss was culprit. Nevertheless, it’s cool to check it out.
Nice and quiet here, depending on what day ypu come. Very Kid friendly, my grandkids love to come here. Good Place to come to see some really beautiful flowers, plants and trees. They have recently opened up the new part that makes the Walking path a lil longer. But the kids found lots of places to sit along the way. We tired the kids out by letting them run in the BIG lawn areas. And they played in the kids area.
Beautiful, very serene and calm. The sun dial was pretty call as well as the variety of plants that where there. The signs where cool that told you what kind of plant you were looking at.
