Just came here for the first time to deliver a Door Dash order, when arriving to the main entrance just like any other hospital you expect that the front door would be locked and hit the button for assistance. The woman at the front desk yelled at me to just open the door. Apparently the front door was unlocked. When I walked in she was unreasonably rude and angry when she asked how she could help. I explained that I am just had a delivery, told me to just set it down "over there" without looking up or pointing to any direction. I start walking to where I assumed she wanted me to go and again upset for no reason told me no on the counter next to her. Then as I say "thank you" before leaving and she just responded mumbling and swearing about ringing the bell. I'm not even a patient there, just someone walking in and out. If you can't interact with someone politely for 2 seconds then you shouldn't be in an environment where you are left responsible for people who are at their most vulnerable state and needing nothing more than being around people who are happy, helpful and caring.
Been going here for 12 years now and I am Extremely Grateful for all of what Northern Lights Has to offer Medical & Mental health care ...
As a parent, it's critically important to me that any medical providers who are treating my child share a mutual interest in what would be most beneficial for them. I've had experiences with a handful of different providers and facilities in regard to my childrens' needs. Some of them have been better than others but generally speaking, they've all been good at the very least. That was until I encountered Northern Light of Acadia Hospital. I cannot speak for the hospital in it's entirety - but I would caution any parent who is considering looking into pediatric behavioral/mental health services for their child. There was almost no consideration taken into my concerns and/or feedback and the staff are still minimally cooperative in allowing me to access my own child's medical records. My experience with Northern Light of Acadia Hospital has left me with a lot of concerns about how their practice operates from an ethical standpoint.
Great place! Update- The NTP program is the best in the area! There adult med management leaves a lot to be desired at this time. I've been through 3 or 4 different providers in the last 14ish months. The person I had been seeing for years moved on. Since then it's been horrible! I end up having to go over everything at each apt because it's someone new and they obviouslyhaven'treviewed my recordsbeforetheapt. I'm about ready to go somewhere else because this has been the worst year of my life. It's a good thing I'm not suicidal!
Med care is a joke! They take you off meds without a proper plan in place for a different med. They let you go without sleep until you start to hulacinate, and still don't help. Reckless and unwilling to acknowledge a mistake and take accountability for it, and blames you for the "misunderstanding" and makes you feel even more unstable.
I did ECT electro convulsive therapy here and they messed up my anesthesia during a procedure. I woke up and they restrained me because i was confused as a side effect from medication. They said it was just because of me and my mental health issues as a way to cover it up when it was inherently medical.
The employees here, with the exception of very few, are PATHETIC. A decent hospital would make one feel as if it wasn’t solely about money. This “hospital” makes it very clear, they only care about money. They will ignore your calls and hang up on you after a few rings if they feel, from a monetary perspective, that you are no longer beneficial to them. These are the same individuals who brag about their title being “mental health professionals.” They will put YOU on the street without regard for your well-being if the dice rolls in their favor. Obviously money is the name of the game, but politics is not, meaning that this facility has unprofessional, or as some would say, shady, practices. Do YOU think it’s a good idea to leave scissors on a desk around people who are depressed? On 03/26/22 I wonder what was found on a desk. I am truly scared of the retaliation that will probably come from this, thus why I have to be careful with what I write. PLEASE, as someone who has high standards, morals, and principles, I beg you not to send your loved one here. Let me see if what it takes to be a psychic: I’ll receive a generic response stating something along the lines of “we are so sorry you didn’t have a good experience, please call us at ___-___-____.” The issue, or at least one of the issues with that is, they will continue to ignore my call or hang up on me after a few rings. Whoever reads this, please note that when you are at rock bottom, you can only move upwards from there. Follow-up: As expected, and as you can all see, I received a generic response. Brent Scobie hangs up the phone after a few rings. If this facility has treated you badly, I urge you to contact the joint commission, an attorney, and local news stations. This place is full of unprofessionals, some of which who make false allegations. It is very disturbing to know that mental health employees can all get together to blacklist people without regard to their overall welfare. Shame on all of you.
Save yourself some time and go to your primary care for med management. Acadia is severely lacking in kindness, basic communication skills and understanding relating to patients and their families. Would not reccomend. Compassion is an important part of working with mental health especially with children.
The hospital was terrible when i was there they didn't care about my safety at all . They left me in a room for hours not helping me , i was having bad side affects from my meds . I was scared that i was gonna die in that hospital, The staff was trying to ovoid me at all cost. The med providers didn't take me seriously at all , instead of listening to me they just give me meds
Absolute worst experience of my life. 3 south at maine general is much much better. This place should be shutdown immediately
