This is a lovely place to hike and get spectacular ocean views. Don’t expect to see much wildlife, and avoid the heavily trafficked loop road during peak tourist season - unless you want to spend time on a parking lot or walk shoulder to shoulder with thousands of visitors. We especially loved the hike to Sargent mountain from Jordan’s pool and also the less crowded loop around the schoodick peninsula
Very very busy park with LIMITED parking. If you want to be able to comfortably park and have a pleasant experience on the trails, get to the park early before 8:30am when the visitor center opens. The ocean path is very popular and very crowded as it links several of the parks most popular attractions. Highly recommend the drive to the quiet side of the island and to Schoodic for a different and quieter perspective of the area.
Great experience. Cadillac Mountain was scenic. Lots of hiking opportunities for all levels. Bubble Rock is a great hike, no matter what path you take. Thunder Hole had impressive waves but wouldn't THUNDER for us need surge and winds to be just right
One of the great parks in America. Especially good if you bike or bike. Riding up Cadillac is a challenge. And a stroll around Jordan Pond is always a hit
Such diverse landscape from mountains to the sea. We particularly liked exploring tide pools at low tide. The flowers looked and smelled amazing in July. Some of the more popular areas were very crowded and parking was difficult. Playground: I did not see specific playgrounds. Some of the trails, granite, and ocean areas are not safe for unsupervised children. Restrooms: Not a lot available, but after a wait in line, facilities were welcome - fairly clean, and paper well stocked.
Awesome experience. There is much to see but limited parking. Took the shuttle one day to Jordan Pond then to the Village Green. It worked very well. Lovely hikes. But many hikes are not for those with fear of heights.
My first visit in Maine. The park is great, so differentiated. Sea, ponds, mountains. Great views, a little bit crowded, but it was summertime, so that was not unexpected. The trails are differentiated, so you can take an easy walk, or climb a little bit if you wish. If you are a lobster fan - that is rhe right place for you! I will be back :
There is so much to do in this park and the surrounding areas, its impossible to fit it all in one week. My wife and I had done so much here in our short week long visit, yet have still much to see and do. We are going to have to make another 3 or 4 trips to see it all. I have been home from the park for only a few days and miss the area and atmosphere and mostly the sheer magnitude of the whole place. I cannot wait to visit it again. Dog-friendliness: Doggos everywhere! Love em all.
Without a doubt one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seems. Wonderful hikes, amazing views, fascinating history. Hiked Acadia Mountain, which was rugged, challenging, and beautiful. The buses around the loop road are a great way to get around. Jordan Pond is as beautiful as advertised, and not too hard to get too. The East part of the park though? Cadillac Mountain, Sandy Beach. Thunder Hole, and Ocean Path? Those are lovely if you like hiking with your face pressed against someone else’s sweaty back. If your favorite thing about Disney World is standing in line, then by all means do the eastern part of the park loop. Otherwise, there are plenty of other beautiful places to explore.
One of the best park if you are a nature lover. Lot of scenery and many spots where you can park.along th road to take beautiful pictures. Park loop drive about 27 miles is best to get to all the main attractions. Jordon pond trail is an easy trail for family. Not very hard.
