WORST COMPANY EVER! Horrible customer service, people are rude and their policy should be explained better. They take advantage of everything to charge extra. The car was dirty we had to wipe it down and in really bad conditions.
WORST AIRPORT STAFF, ROACHES IN THE CAR!! I rented a Car from their Miami Airport location between 27th-31st March. Even though, I had booked this deal through Priceline for $243 and was just purchasing car coverage from Ace Rent a car, they only applied $221 as deal discount towards some hypothetical total they of $595. On 27th, when I picked up the car, I specifically said “NO” to Toll and asked for only car coverage but I was charged for Tolls and Liability. The guy at the airport rudely told me it will be taken off but it has been a week and there have been no changes to my credit card yet. In addition, within 15minutes of leaving the pickup location, “Low Tire Pressure” warning popped up. I called the airport location and they said they will switch the cars but when I went back to the pickup location, they just filled air or change tire and gave it back to me. On 28th, I saw roaches coming out of the car from AC went and roaming on the dashboard please see the images attached. On 29th, I was about to leave for a big day trip to Key West and the “Low Tire Pressure” warning again came up. I called the airport location and they rudely asked me to change the tire by myself or fill air or get the car swapped. I went to the airport pickup location and there they said we will fill air. I was so shocked that inspite of them saying that they’ll swap the car over the phone, they changed their statement. So I had to be firm and asked for a new car as I was going on next day on 2 day trip to Orlando. The guy at the airport location was also intimidating and saying “do you want it or not” when I complaint about the roaches. They took almost an hour, I couldn’t do my Key West trip one of the most important trip that I had planned for my visit to Miami. I had bookings for the ferry at a set time which I missed and a snorkeling experience for which I won’t be getting any refunds from those companies. Overall it was the worst experience with this rental company and I’m disappointed in the service and way in which the staff at airport treats people as well as trick customers for extra charges inspite of customer specifically saying “NO”. Finally after a week & half, customer service responded and refunded me the amount I wasn’t supposed to be charged.
I rate this 2 star due to good evening staff however there were rates added onto the rental which I didn't agree to. The man at the counter said the other $200 was just a security deposit and would be returned but when I saw the invoice it was $557 for an economy compact car. Originally quoted at $262 for my stay. But when you see rate charge is $165 and some other things tacked on you'll wish you didn't go with the more affordable option. Prices are hidden throughout this be sure to check up front detailed pricing. Once you sign then that pushy man will tack on the rest for his convenience. Enjoy your car because it'll be more than you think. The car was good but had rattling noises and it drifted off the road while in the rain. Not sure what their inspection process is once returning and where all the extra $$$ goes after you pay.
I'll give Julio 5 stars but the company as a whole feels misleading. Julio was the guy I turned the car in to and he was kind professional and enthusiastic. The man I rented from was very pushy, dismissive of my questions, and made sure I paid for every extra cost option even when I declined some. The hidden extra fees are not something I was expecting. At that rate, I would have gone with another company. The car itself was perfectly fine and worked great. My only issue was with the guy at the counter and the almost $100 over our reservation rate we paid in additional fees.
Gisela was super amazing, very patient, she made a way out of no way. I came to her with a problem she solved it immediately, seamlessly, and with a smile on her face and at the end of the day when I think of customer service she went above and beyond. Her as well as the other agent that was working with her at the time, had really, really great energy. the airport was very hectic because they had no cars they were extremely oversold. However they remained calm, patient, and polite the entire time. I usually rent with hertz over looking Ace car rental but they provided the same, actually even better service then I have experience at Miami Hertz.
If I could leave zero stars I would. Charged me for insurance even though I gave them my insurance card. Then charged and extra day premium for no reason. Also mislead into buying tolls. Spend the extra money and rent a car from another company. THIS LOCATION IS FULL OF SCAM ARTISTS!!! PLUS they don’t even answer their phones or call back. Please note though that ACE CORPORATE customer service is great and was very helpful and refunded me. So you would prob be safe at a different ace. Avoid this one at all costs though. Also want to mention the owner reached out and was very nice. Go to Orlando or ft Lauderdale.
Very friendly staff. Had to cancel my reservation at Budget due to the incompetent staff working there and book here. Great service, better car and a much better price. Very easy rental process too, without waits. Highly recommend.
This review for the ACE that is "inside" the Miami International Airport terminal. For arrivals the baggage claim is a fifteen minute walk to a train. The train ride is about five minutes, then another five minute walk, all with luggage, to the ACE counter. We stood in line at least thirty minutes while customers in front of us argued with the staff. Several customers left without vehicles complaining of hidden charges. When I got to the front of the line, the rep tried her best to include as many additional charges to the reservation I already paid five days earlier. Even though I made this reservation thru a third party site via my employer benefits, I was still told that they did not have any SUV sized vehicles available. The only car available was a Nissan Versa, which is a sub-compact vehicle. I was promptly told that I would not receive any credit for the difference. Then I was told a $200 deposit would be charged to my credit card which was not noted on the reservation. The rep. informed me that I needed to purchase a $30 toll package as Miami tolls are $18 each and don't accept cash or card, that was a lie. I declined. The rep. told me they can refill the gas for me when I return the vehicle at $19.99/gallon, and it would be cheaper for them to do so. That was a lie. As a matter of fact, I read the terms carefully to avoid additional charges by not using a debit card. Overall the pickup experience was horrible. We went over the car with a fine-tooth comb before leaving the airport, documenting all defects since I was aware we were dealing with a scam operation. Checking in the car was very easy, except for the fact that ACE is the only car rental place in the drop off lot that doesn't have a visible sign. They have a cone with a piece of paper on it. We handed the keys to a person next to the cone, and the person walked away. No soft-skills were evident. Do not rent from this company if you value your time, customer service or expect to get what you paid for.
It takes a lot for me to go on here and spend my time writing a review but it is warranted here. This place is awful. I rent a car from Miami at least once a month and I tried ACE because their price to reserve was low. Until I went to get the vehicle. then they forgot to add in insurance and fees and suddenly the cost was double where it started. The first day I had the car the battery died. the second day it got a flat. when I looked at the tires, they were almost bald, dry rotted, and had no tread left. They they tried to charge me a deductible to replace the tires and blamed me for their poor condition. Do not rent a car from here you will regret it. UPDATE: As if this company could not get any worse, I responded to the below message asking for me to contact customer service and they still say that they wouldn't do a thing to fix this problem. Thank you for wasting even more of my time.
Overall riding experience was average. Car was clean. Over the counter service was very bad. They tried to push insurance when I tried to use mine. When I said I will cancel my reservation then they said ok no insurance will be needed. Tried to push me for buying gas from them which was expensive compared to market rate. Anyone who has less experience renting car will be easily fall into these traps of paying extra cost.
