Amazing lake view, with Picnic tables. Canoeing seems favorable at this spot. Found frogs, tadpoles, butterflies. Restroom / washroom are neat which are shared with campers. There is camping office, ice cream available in July
We went to a kayak in campground here, great experience. Great staff however I'm very dissapointed in the lack on direction and warning that should be given to people doing this. It can be quite treacherous and the portage is very inconvenient if you have a kayak or canoe with lots of things on it for camping. I hope they can let staff know this in the future, to avoid potentially dangerous situations involving visitors. However great park, and make sure you come here early, it's not easy. Especially if you plan to camp. Latrine toilets available at kayak/canoe-in campsites. Dog-friendliness: Pet friendly , just clean up after your dog or animal.
The best Ontario Park we have experienced. So few people, a beautiful beach and typically a nice breeze off the lake which helps cool things off and keep the bugs at bay. One thing to be aware of is that there is no cell phone service at all. There seems to be one small spot in the shop where you can stand and get a single bar of LTE but that’s about it. In a lot of ways this is the best part : Almost all of the sites are great - they each have unique features which are advantageous. We prefer sites numbered 20 and above down towards the main beach….
Beautiful camp ground. The beach is amazing nice sand but lots and lots of zebra mussels around so watch your feet! The bugs were not nearly as bad as i thought they were gonna be, bug spray on your feet will do the trick but didn’t seem to be as bad compared to at home! Washrooms are clean, and there is a couple out houses around as well! Yes there is LOTS of chipmunks running around but they are super friendly and a fun addition to the camp ground. Canoeing around the area is amazing and lots to see! All around an amazing trip and will be excited for our next visit back!
Been coming here since I was a kid 30 years ago and it’s still my favourite campground in all of Ontario. A canoeing paradise. There’s something special about canoeing on grand lake that can’t be explained. You just have to experience it. Beautiful Sandy beaches. It’s usually booked full in the summer but there’s a day use area if you’re willing to do the drive for the day. It’s worth it. No cell service. Great way to disconnect. Clams in the water, lots of tadpoles and bull frogs, loons, and many other birds and wildlife. Two hiking trails right from the campground.
Gorgeous campground, access to many hikes at different levels, and fun paddles to places such as high falls. The site was well kept and clean, nice and flat for the tent. 10/10 experience. Restrooms: Toilettes were good and clean, they had real flushable toilets which was a nice change from outhouses. Would have liked a comfort station with showers though. Dog-friendliness: They had both areas which allow and don't allow dogs which I quite liked.
Beautiful park!! Great sites and flush toilets instead of outhouses. Water was beautiful and excellent hiking around. Be prepared for a very long dirt road drive in.
My daughter calls this the magical place because of the unique trails
Awesome and really beautiful camp ground. I have never felt so safe and comfortable . Very large camp spots. Bathrooms very clean. Extremely nice Park Rangers.
Beautiful quiet campground by the lake. Low density of people, awesome sunset by the beach. Very shallow beach that you can almost walk to middle of the lake. Love this place!
