I've been in the fitness industry for over twenty five years, and by far and away this thee worst gym I've ever experienced. For example, one of the reasons I decided to stop my membership was due to the aerobic equipment, as well as weight training equipment being broken and not fixed for months on end. So when the membership director asked me why I was not renewing, I pointed out the litany of safety issues regarding broken equipment with no signage posted, the gym being filthy, and instructors repeatedly not showing up for scheduled classes. The membership director told me "everything's changing, we've got new owners, and I promise you that all of the items you've mentioned will not happen again." So I took her word for it, and renewed my membership for another year. Unfortunately, nothing what so ever changed. When I revisited the conversation to her, and stated that I would no longer be paying my monthly dues, she stated that "well then your account will be referred to the collection department." This is a gym that is in no way representative of what the fitness industry is about. A year after this occurred, Club One in Encinitas, California thankfully closed their doors, as they're an embarrassment to the gym industry.
Seriously great gym and staff. Day pass was pricey at $20 but I'm glad I went. They have a full set of kettlebells and weights, and a good set of machines. There are several different areas you can work out in, and classes you can attend if you're interested. I did only go when it was quiet, so can't speak to what it's like when it gets busy.
Decent Gym. I had a free gym pass from the hotel. There is a 3 lane pool, about 20 or so aerobic machines treadmills, bicycles, Elliptical Trainers etc, area with punch bags, weights and other fitness machines, free small and big towels/ dressing gowns, lockers are available ask the front desk for a special card, steam room and about 8 shower units. It is all clean and well cared for but super new. I believe there is a studio room on the floor above for yoga etc.
Im a tourist. Visited this Gym in August 2019. Daily pass is much to expensive. 25 Dollar. Also when u only want to Lift some weights. No good and not many Equipment. Not recommendable.
Complimentary service came with our hotel Inn @ Union Square... steam room was nice but not coed as i was told over the phone also no dry sauna. Tiles in the shower area were missing. The first couple lockers I tried using didn't work and even An employee couldn't get it to work. No shower slippers available.
This gym may not be the biggest in SF but has everything you need to have a good workout, the place is very clean and the staff is friendly and ready to help in any time. Compared to other gyms in the city is not expensive at all and I especially recommend it to everyone is in town for a limited period of time due to the convenience of very cheap weekly passes
Good gym. I do my cardio here. There is WiFi and free towels. A solid gym. Easy to get in and out. That's important to me. It's not the most exciting gym, rather the opposite, but who cares.
I was fed up with paying way too much at Equinox Sports Club, so I got a one-week trial to see if this would be my new gym. They don't have a Roman chair or Pilates reformers, but I can make do with the equipment they do have. I do a mixture of weight training and cardio workouts, and Active Sports Clubs accommodates my needs fairly well. Amy, the manager, is super friendly and always asks how I'm doing and remembers big things I've shared with her.
It's a bit pricey but I feel like it's definitely worth it. It's very remote and not a lot of people go there so it never gets too crowded. They have everything you need as far as equipment and also a pool and yoga room. I recommend this to everyone.
Small gym, no designated area for stretching, not a lot of machines but enough to get by if you're only visiting. Staff can be short and indifferent. Overall seemed like a clean place.
