A family owned and operated Barbershop serving Greene County, VA since 1989.
In 1989 Lloyd Canada (my Father) started 'Garage Hair Care' out of our two-car garage. The business grew and so did his need to a move to a better location. In 1996 he moved to Rt. 29 in Ruckersville, where the name changed to 'Lloyd’s Barber Shop'. In 2000 I graduated from high school, not having a clue what I wanted to do for a career. I went to college for a year, came back, and still had no clue. Dad, like all Father's do, sat me down and told me I needed to learn a trade, and with a trade I would never be out of a job. So that Fall I started barbering school at the Greene County Tech Center with my Mother, Marcia, as my teacher. Having my Dad as my boss and my Mother as my teacher made for some long days! We all survived and now I have been cutting hair for over 11 years, making me the 3rd generation barber in the family. The shop’s name has since been changed to Adam’s Barber Shop.
Now after a total of 28 years barbering, Lloyd has decided to hang up his clippers. To help me out I’ve brought in a young barber, Kameron Arrington. Kameron is a 2012 graduate of William Monroe. He received his barbering license after a 3 year program at the Greene County Tech Center. On 2011 he was awarded 2nd in the district competition as well as 2nd in the Skills USA State competition. Kameron has also been training as an apprentice for 6 months in the shop to pass his barbering exam. He has a lot of skills for a young barber and a great future ahead of him in the business.
