Pharmacist Adam and Howard knew when they opened Adams Discount Pharmacy in Glenside, Pennsylvania, they were filling a much needed void. But the media exposure they have received, has even exceeded their expectations. "We knew the plight of the uninsured was a real problem that had to be addressed and we are grateful for the coverage we have received in trying to remedy this serious issue." says Adam.
Two major local T.V. stations have done exclusive reports about Adams Discount Pharmacy. Nydia Han from 6 ABC News and Jim Donovan from CBS 3 "3 on Your Side" (see media coverage link) have recently come knocking. "They heard what we were doing so they came to see for themselves," says Howard. In addition to the television network coverage, numerous publications have featured stories about Adams Discount Pharmacy. What is all the fuss about? Howard says, "it's about the amount of money you can save using our pharmacy and the advice patients receive about their medication therapy. We review every patient's medication regiment and make recommendations on how to save money. Wherever possible we educate our patients about generic medications. No one else is doing this" says Howard.
The pharmacy opened for business on September 1, 2005. Since then, they have been inundated with phone calls.
With over 45 million uninsured in the U.S., and that number steadily on the rise, Adam and Howard believe there services will continue to be in demand.
