Addison station (CTA Red Line)

Description

Addison is a Chicago, Illinois station of the Chicago Transit Authority elevated train line popularly called the Chicago "L". It is located in the Wrigleyville area of the Lakeview neighborhood at 940 West Addison Street with city block coordinates at 3600 North at 940 West. Addison directly serves the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field, the city's north side Major League Baseball team and its stadium. The station is served by the Red Line. The station is within the shadow of the historic baseball stadium.Transit artChicago artist Steve Musgrave has several murals featuring Cubs legends on display at the Addison station, which he adopted as part of the CTA's Adopt-A-Station program in 1998. Four large murals feature Cubs legends Billy Williams, Ferguson Jenkins, "Mr. Cub," Ernie Banks, and Ryne Sandberg. A smaller painting of Harry Caray was added later.Since 1998, Musgrave has also designed posters commemorating the annual Cubs–Sox crosstown series. Beginning in 2003, the CTA has also issued farecards featuring the poster design.ServicePrior to 2007, southbound afternoon Purple Line Express trains stopped at the station before weekday evening Cubs games, to speed travel times for customers from Evanston, Skokie and Wilmette. In an effort to prevent delays due to Brown Line construction just south of the station, Purple Line Express trains now stop at the nearby Sheridan station instead.

Elevator not working and both escalators shut down. No one answered when using the call button on elevator. Take the handicap accessible symbol off of the station information if these accessibility features are completely useless!
Kind of an icky subway station, but at least the view of Wrigley Field makes up for it.
Staff are so bias need better training in customer service
Very clean compared to other lines in Chicago. However, super fast turns should be expected. Also, on time!
One of the cleanest and friendliest red line stations. It has not yet been updated, so the stairs can become one way on busy times. Wrigley Field is less than a block away, as are all the bars of Wrigley ville.
The station was planned out too well. The platform needed to be longer when constructing it due to all the Wrigely field summer traffic. It's time for the CTA and the Cubs to come together to plan a renovation to the station to expand the station during the off-season. Massive project but it'll improve efficiency around the station and allow the CTA to shut down the aging Sheridan station. One more floor board comes up there and Addison will be overrun the entire year.
You know it's a fine little Chicago stop
Sometimes extremely busy
Not as efficient as it should be for a station serving a busy neighborhood and ballpark. Platforms are quite narrow, and so are the few staircases/escalators between the elevated platform and the station below.
Horrible customer service. Clerk does not even know anything about the beverages being advertised, for a simple question if the drink was already sweet or not ?
